All 6 WPIAL football champs reach state semifinals

Four more WPIAL champions were crowned Saturday at Acrisure Stadium, and Central Catholic in Class 6A and Thomas Jefferson in Class 4A were victorious in the PIAA quarterfinals this past weekend.

Those two district champs join Pine-Richland in 5A, Avonworth in 3A, South Park in 2A and repeat winner Fort Cherry in A on their way to the PIAA semifinals this weekend.

It marks the second straight year all six WPIAL winners will be part of the state semifinals weekend.

Three District 7 teams will battle teams from District 3 in the middle of the state for a berth in the PIAA finals, and all three games are being played in Altoona.

Central Catholic in 6A, Pine-Richland in 5A and Thomas Jefferson in 4A will play final-four contests at Mansion Park.

The 2024 PIAA championships at Chapman Field at Cumberland Valley High School will take place Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 5-7.

Here are the dates, sites and times of all 12 PIAA semifinal football games.
