High school roundup for Dec. 29, 2024: Upper St. Clair girls top rival; OLSH coach gets 400th win

Rylee Kalocay’s 22 points helped pace Upper St. Clair to a 72-50 victory over rival Bethel Park on Sunday at the Cal (Pa.) Hoopfest.
Meredith Huzjak had 12 points and Peyton McGregor added 11 in the win for the Panthers (5-2). Sadie Orie and AJ Elphinstone had 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Bethel Park (6-3).
Canon-McMillan 45, Franklin Regional 34 — Behind 29 points from Lauren Borella, Canon-McMillan (5-4) beat Franklin Regional (5-4) at the Cal (Pa.) Hoopfest. Madison DeRiggi scored 16 to lead the Panthers, who trailed 14-8 at halftime.
Greensburg Central Catholic 52, Belle Vernon 31 — At the Cal (Pa.) Hoopfest, Erica Gribble had 20 points to lead Greensburg Central Catholic (5-2) to victory. Jayla Peterson added 10 points, and Avery Jones had 10. Saylor Lee scored eight points and Aubrey Brown had 17 rebounds for Belle Vernon (4-5).
Knoch 34, Penn Hills 32 — Karlee Buterbaugh had 11 points and Neah Ewing scored 10 as Knoch (4-6) beat Penn Hills (1-8) at the Holiday Bash at North Allegheny. Milani Oliver scored 13 for Penn Hills. The Knights finished on a 9-4 run.
North Catholic 64, McKeesport 26 — Sarah Loughry had 13 points and Brady Wehner and Sam Weir each tallied 12 as North Catholic (7-2) beat McKeesport (2-8) at the Holiday Bash at North Allegheny.
OLSH 54, Allderdice 44 — Leah Parker had 16 points, and Caudia Ierulo scored 11 as OLSH (8-0) won at the Cal (Pa.) Hoopfest. It was coach Don Eckerle’s 400th career victory in his 22nd season at OLSH.
Bailey White had 19 points for Allderdice (4-5).
Shaler 41, Norwin 38 — Reese Smetanka had 13 points, Bayleigh Perez added 12 and Noelle Roth scored 11 as Shaler (9-1) topped Norwin (4-4) at the Holiday Bash at North Allegheny. Avery Brozeski scored 12 points to lead the Knights.
Thomas Jefferson 67, Montour 52 — Maggie Spell scored 22 points, and Kaylee DeAngelo had 20 points, including five 3-pointers, as Thomas Jefferson (10-1) won at the Cal (Pa.) Hoopfest. Tiffany Miller led Montour (4-5) with 20 points.
West Allegheny 63, Obama Academy 38 — Alexis Santucci had 19 points as West Allegheny (6-3) won at the Holiday Bash at North Allegheny. Taylor Phillips scored 22 for Obama Academy (0-6).
Boys basketball
Moon 50, Streetsboro (Ohio) 33 — Behind 20 points from Michael Santicola and 10 from Carter Tumulty, Moon (8-2) scored a victory at the OHSBCA Shot Clock Shootout in Ohio.
North Catholic 54, Strath Haven (N.J.) 34 — Jason Fredericks scored 22 points, and Jude Rottmann added 11 as North Catholic (5-4) won at the Boardwalk Basketball Classic in New Jersey.
