Consistency is the key to a very successful season in any sport.

It is also important to maintain a spot in the weekly Trib 10.

What we are discovering is the elite softball teams in the district have been consistent into the second week of April.

However, for their diamond counterparts in WPIAL baseball, finding that consistent winning groove has been a tough recipe to master.

While there was little movement and one change to the bottom of the softball Trib 10 this week, baseball this week was shuffling more than a casino card dealer.

In softball, the much-anticipated Class 6A showdown between the top two power-ranked teams was put on hold as Hempfield and Seneca Valley will now collide twice in a 13-day span on April 15 and April 28.

Baseball saw two teams slip out, two new teams join the fray and only one team remaining in the same spot from last week as Pine-Richland stays at No. 1.

Here are the latest power rankings. Teams are listed with overall record and last week’s ranking. These weekly rankings have zero classification boundaries.
