2013 WPIAL Class AA Individual Wrestling Results

The Class AA WPIAL Championships had a lot of variety to the weekend, with 12 total schools being represented at the top of the podium at Chartiers Valley. Burrell led the way with 3 Champions, including Senior Phil Marra at 145, Senior Dakota DesLauriers at 182, and Sophomore Alan Beattie at 285. 11 other schools brought home individual gold, including Burgettstown, Derry, South Side, South Park, Kittanning, Charleroi, Freedom, South Fayette, Jefferson-Morgan, Chartiers-Houston, and Avella.

Saturday also marked the first time in seven years the WPIAL did not have a four time Champion. But many guys laid claim to try and get into that conversation in the future. Derry Freshman George Phillippi and South Park Freshman Greg Bulsak won their first, South Fayette Sophomore Jared Walker won his second, and Kittanning Junior Jason Nolf won his third.

Wrestlers winning multiple WPIAL titles this season included Burrell Senior Dakota DesLauriers and Kittaning Junior Jason Nolf winning their third, and South Side Beaver Senior Nathan Reckner, Charleroi Junior Nick Gavazzi, South Fayette Sophomore Jared Walker, and Jeff-Morgan Senior Dustin Conti winning their second.

South Fayette led the way with 8 qualifiers into the Southwest Regional Tournament. Chartiers Houston and Mount Pleasant qualified 7, Bentworth, Burrell, Jefferson Morgan, and West Greene qualified 6, and Valley and Yough qualified 5 wrestlers.
