WPIAL Girls Basketball – 2010-2011 Season Review

It was a golden start to a new decade for four WPIAL girls basketball teams last March when they captured district titles at the AJ Palumbo Center. Shaler won its 2nd girls hoops crown when they surprised Mount Lebanon in AAAA, Blackhawk earned their 5th gold ball in AAA, Seton-LaSalle their 3rd by winning AA and North Catholic won its record 16th WPIAL championship by winning the Class A title. Despite losing in the district title game, Mount Lebanon went on to win a third straight PIAA Class AAAA girls basketball championship.

Here is a review of the 2010-2011 girls basketball season in the WPIAL with the final standings and WPIAL and PIAA postseason results.
