2011 PIAA FOOTBALL PLAYOFF UPDATE…AND THEN THERE WAS ONE

Two kicks…an extra point and a field goal proved to be enough Saturday to boot two more WPIAL teams from the Road to Hershey, leaving only one District 7 team still alive for a state crown. North Allegheny saw its 21-game winning streak end on a last second field goal by Central Dauphin in Class AAAA, while a missed conversion turned out to be huge as Aliquippa fell by one point to Tyrone in a Class AA Semifinals contest in Altoona. With Montour having lost Friday night in Class AAA, that leaves only the streaking Clairton Bears on their way to Chocolate Town four a fourth straight trip to the PIAA finals in what they hope is a state three-peat. Here are ALL of the resultd from the first three rounds, plus the title matchups in all four classifications in the 2011 PIAA Football Playoffs.
