Nearly a quarter of the WPIAL Class AAAA schools are looking for new football coaches. On Friday, Shaler joined the growing list of AltoonaHempfield, Kiski Area, Mount Lebanon and Penn Hills without a gridiron boss after veteran coach Neil Gordon announced his resignation.

Gordon spent the last four years at Shaler where he was 27-14 with three playoff berths and two trips to the Quarterfinals.

This follows 20 years, 156 wins and a WPIAL and PIAA state title at Penn Hills from 1987 through 2006.

The 63-year old Gordon claims he is not finished coaching, but just felt the time was right to leave Shaler.
