Don Vandergrift: 1939 – 2010

The MSA Sports Network lost one of our own Monday morning with the passing of Don Vandergrift. Vandergrift was the voice of the North Allegheny Tigers and was part of both the Nauticom Sports Network and the MSA Sports Network since day one with his work with the North Allegheny Sports Network.

Don was a great voice for high school sports fan and an outstanding person as well. He will be truly missed.

Donald R. Vandergrift

On October 11, 2010, Donald R. Vandergrift, age 71, of Franklin Park, beloved husband of 45 years to Rosemary Krepp Vandergrift; dear father of Lauren (John) Cubellis; Mark (Dana) Vandergrift, and his late infant son Scott Vandergrift; brother of Hugh A. Vandergrift; faithful and loving grandfather of Alyssa, Mara & Elena Cubellis, Anthony, Mathew, Lindsey & Zeke Vandergrift.

Donald was a teacher at North Allegheny Senior High School for 37 years. Inducted into the NA Hall of Fame and the "Voice of the NA Tigers" for the past 47 years. He designed and maintained the NA athletics website and was the student council advisor and talent show director.

Friends received at Simons Funeral Home, Inc., 7720 Perry Highway, on Wednesday & Thursday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm.
