High school roundup: Pine-Richland girls take down No. 4 North Allegheny

Megan Donnley had two goals and Ally Malovicky had a goal and two assists to lift No. 5 Pine-Richland to a 4-2 victory over North Allegheny in a Section 1-AAAA girls soccer game Monday night.

Sami Kelly had the go-ahead score for the Rams (4-1, 3-0).

Ava Ruppensburg had two goals for the No. 4 Tigers (5-2, 2-1).

Peters Township 4, Bethel Park 1 — Hannah Stuck had two goals and an assist as No. 2 Peters Township (7-0, 2-0) won in Section 2-AAAA. Regan LaVigna and Natalie Daube also scored for the Indians.

Upper St. Clair 2, Baldwin 0 — Nikki Gibbons and Alexis Wehrle scored to lift Upper St. Clair (2-3-2, 1-1-1) to a Section 2-AAAA victory.

Hampton 3, Indiana 2 (OT) — Logan Nicholas scored in overtime to lead Hampton (2-5, 2-1) to a Section 1-AAA win. Courtney Coholich had two goals for Hampton.

Moon 5, South Fayette 1 — In Section 4-AAA, Delaney Snyder and Emily Orr each scored twice as No. 1 Moon (7-0, 5-0) rolled to victory.

Bishop Canevin 2, Chartiers-Houston 1 — Maddie Walter and Caroline Colantonio scored to lift Bishop Canevin (4-1-1, 3-0-1) to a Section 2-A win.

Allderdice 10, Woodland Hills 0 — Ella Copich netted a hat trick to lead Allderdice (3-2-1) to a nonsection win.

Boys soccer

Central Catholic 3, Woodland Hills 1 — Larry Cersosimo scored twice, and Joey Feola added a goal as Central Catholic (4-2-2, 4-0-1) won a Section 3-AAAA game.

South Park 8, McGuffey 0 — Nick Savage scored four times to lead Class AA No. 2 South Park (5-0) to a nonsection win.

Boys golf

Section 7-AAA — Peters Township's Hunter Bruce shot 1-under par 71 to place first at the Section 7-AAA qualifier at The Club at Nevillewood. Teammates Michael Bell (79), Parker Johnson (81) and Matt Petrisin (82) also advanced to the WPIAL semifinals, along with Upper St. Clair's Chris Joson (75) and Jack Steve (77), Chartiers Valley's Zach Pilosoph (76), South Fayette's Luke Lestini (78) and Canon-McMillan's Christian Stewart (83).

Section 8-AAA — Armstrong's Nick Benvenuti shot 74 to finish first at the Section 8-AAA qualifier at Kittanning Country Club. Armstrong's Adam Cippel (75), Noah Oliver (77) and Anthony Lobb (81); Hampton's Ryan Dayton (79) and Nate Johnstonbaugh (80); and Shady Side Academy's Jas Fuhrer (76), Brice Delaney (78) and Adam Lauer (80) also qualified for the semifinals.

Section 3-AA — Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic junior Tre Bartony shot 3-over par 75, and Vincentian Academy's Zach Collins shot 80 at the Section 3-AA qualifier at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club.

Section 5-AA — Riverside's Skyler Fox, the 2016 WPIAL champion, shot 2-under par 69 to earn medalist honors at the Section 5-AA qualifier at Connoquenessing Country Club. Teammates Justin Hand (79) and Dan Zelch (80), as well as Laurel's Matt Mincher (73), Ellwood City's Brock Boariu (79) and Neshannock's Hunter Turk (80) also advanced to the WPIAL championship.

Section 6-AA — South Side's Casey Jones shot 1-over par 72 to win the Section 6-AA qualifier at Rolling Acres Golf Course. Also qualifying were Beaver's Rye Boeh (74) and Jacob Clay, South Side's Ethan Woodling (75) and Noah Turek (79) and Central Valley's Michael Rutherford (76).

Section 7-AA — At Westwood Golf Course, Seton LaSalle's Chris Panza shot 5-over par 76 to finish first at the Section 7-AA qualifier. Teammates Jacob Verner (81) and Nick Waskiewicz (81), and Serra Catholic's Cameron Copeland (77) also qualified.

Section 9-AA — Five Sewickley Academy golfers earned spots in the WPIAL championship field at the Section 9-AA qualifier at Black Hawk Golf Course. Will Nocito shot 2-over par 74 to finished first and will be joined by teammates J.F. Aber (75), Peter Curran (75), Cole Luther (77) and Landen Shirley (78). Quaker Valley's Michael Tanabe (78) and Ryan Jones (79) also advanced.
