High school roundup: USC boys edge No. 4-ranked Canon-McMillan

The Upper St. Clair boys soccer team earned a bit of revenge Tuesday night with a 2-1 victory at Canon-McMillan in a Section 2-AAAA contest.
The No. 4-ranked Big Macs (6-3, 3-3) won the first meeting, 2-1 on Sept. 12.
Connor Rya and Chris Lloyd scored for the Panthers (4-4-1, 4-2), who moved into sole possession of second place in the section behind No. 1 Peters Township (9-0-1, 6-0).
Austin McColpin scored for Canon-McMillan.
Butler 4, Shaler 2 — Justin Stewart scored three times and Tate Mahney added a goal as Butler (7-2, 5-1) won in Section 1-AAAA.
Central Catholic 4, Penn Hills 0 — Larry Cercosimo had a goal and assist as Central Catholic (6-2-2, 6-0-1) won in Section 3-AAAA.
Chartiers Valley 8, McKeesport 0 — James Moore and Dave Verduci combined for the shutout as No. 5 Chartiers Valley (8-3, 5-1) won in Section 4-AAA.
South Fayette 4, Thomas Jefferson 0 — Jared Renz scored twice, and Paeblo Guerro and Colin Martincic added goals to lead South Fayette (7-2-2, 5-0-1) to a Section 4-AAA win.
Keystone Oaks 2, Elizabeth Forward 1 — Nate Philistine and Josh Skaris scored as No. 3 Keystone Oaks (9-1, 6-1) won a Section 1-AA game. Hunter Sinay scored for Elizabeth Forward (6-5, 4-4).
South Park 3, Obama Academy 1 — Zak Schwarzel scored twice and Logan Mannheimer added another as No. 1 South Park (9-0, 6-0) won in Section 1-AA.
OLSH 9, Mohawk 1 — Brendon Burke and Andrew Heller each had three goals to lead OLSH (6-5, 5-2) to a Section 1-A win.
CW North Catholic 9, Vincentian Academy 1 — Joe Kearney scored three times, and Nate Paras added two goals to lift No. 3 Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (11-0, 9-0) to a Section 3-A win.
Bentworth 3, Chartiers-Houston 1 — In Section 4-A, Brian Hustava, Blaine Fowler and Jacob Davis scored for Bentworth (8-4, 6-3) in a victory.
