Fuhrer IV helps spark success for Shady Side Academy golf

Frankie Fuhrer IV, a senior at Shady Side Academy, has been one of the leaders of the Shady Side Academy golf team, which has compiled an 11-1 record.

He's been on the team since his freshman year. He also plays on the basketball team. He is undecided on a college but wants to major in business and continue to play basketball.

Here's a closer look at this week's Herald Spotlight Athlete:

When did you first start playing golf?

Probably when I was 4 or 5. My dad was a pro golfer so I started at an early age.

About how many days a year do you golf?

Around 100.

Who's your favorite professional golfer?

Frank Fuhrer III.

What three items have to be in your refrigerator?

Muscle milk, grape juice and eggs.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Play basketball and hang out with my brothers and friends.

What is your favorite TV show?

“Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

What would make up your all-time favorite meal?

Stone crabs with mustard sauce on the side and eggs over easy on multi-grain toast.

What junk food do you have a weakness for?

Goldfish crackers.

Is there a food you refuse to eat?

Peanuts.

If you were a contestant on “American Idol,” what song would you be singing?

“Litty” by Tory Lanez and Meek Mill.
