High school roundup: Chartiers Valley boys shut out Thomas Jefferson

Nate Wood scored the lone goal as No. 5 Chartiers Valley earned a 1-0 win over Thomas Jefferson (5-6-2, 2-4-2) in a Section 4-AAA boys soccer game Tuesday night.
James Moore secured the shutout in goal for the Colts (10-3, 7-1).
Ringgold 5, Laurel Highlands 0 — Christian Egan scored twice as Ringgold (7-3-2, 6-0-2) earned a earned a Section 3-AAA win.
Butler 4, North Hills 1 — Justin Stewart scored three times, and Josh Burlingham added a goal as Butler (9-3, 6-2) won a Section 1-AAAA game.
North Allegheny 3, Pine-Richland 2 — Josh Luchini scored three times to lead No. 2 North Allegheny (11-2-1, 7-0-1) to a Section 1-AAAA win. North Allegheny claimed the section title for the first time in 17 seasons.
Canon-McMillan 3, Mt. Lebanon 0 — Tommy Samosky, Chris Boverios and Brandon Byer scored and Marshall Robertson had the clean sheet in net as No. 4 Canon-McMillan (8-3, 5-3) won in Section 2-AAAA.
Peters Township 1, Bethel Park 0 (OT) — Luke Kelly scored on an assist from Tyler Opferman in overtime to lift No. 1 Peters Township (9-0-1, 6-0) to a Section 2-AAAA win.
Central Catholic 1, Plum 0 — In Section 3-AAAA, Dan Schearer scored and Jared Maffei posted the shutout to lead No. 3 Central Catholic (8-2-2, 8-0-1) to a victory.
Waynesburg 5, McGuffey 0 — Gavin Benson scored four times as Waynesburg (8-4, 7-2) won in Section 3-AA.
Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 10, Carlynton 1 — Joe Kearney had three goals as No. 3 Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (13-0, 11-0) won in Section 3-A.
Bentworth 5, California 1 — In Section 4-A, Wyatt Selvoski and Levi Jordan each scored twice to lead Bentworth (10-4, 8-3) to victory.
