Westmoreland high school roundup: Greensburg Salem rolls past Albert Gallatin

Joseph Williams caught a scoring pass and ran for a touchdown as Greensburg Salem defeated Albert Gallatin, 31-12, in a Class 4A Big 9 Conference game Friday.

Kevin Braswell added a touchdown on a 55-yard interception return for Greensburg Salem (3-4, 3-3). Albert Gallatin's Domonick Lewellen hit Nate Bricker with a 98-yard touchdown pass as Lewellen threw for 220 yards and Bricker caught seven passes for 164 yards.

Belle Vernon 28, Trinity 21 — Mason Pascoe ran for his second touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter to lift No. 3 Belle Vernon (6-0, 6-0) over Trinity (3-3, 2-3) in the Big 9 Conference. Pascoe ran for 211 yards on 25 carries. Joey Koroly rushed for 167 yards and two TDs to pace Trinity.

Mt. Lebanon 35, Norwin 20 — Antonio LaSota rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown as Mt. Lebanon (5-2, 4-0) defeated Norwin (3-4, 2-3) in the Southeastern Conference. James Stocker added 123 passing yards and a touchdown for the Blue Devils. Jack Salopek threw for 218 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score to lead Norwin.

Elizabeth Forward 50, Yough 0 — Zachary Benedek threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score to lead No. 5 Elizabeth Forward (5-1, 5-0) over Yough (1-6, 1-3) in the Interstate. Seth Andres added three touchdowns — two receiving and one rushing — for the Warriors.

McGuffey 49, Southmoreland 16 McGuffey improved to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play with a Class 3A Interstate victory over Southmoreland (0-6, 0-4).

Monessen 34, Northgate 25 — Isaiah Beltram scored on an 85-yard kickoff return to begin Monessen's comeback nonconference victory at Northgate (2-4). Northgate jumped to a 19-0 lead in the first quarter before Beltram's return. Beltram added a 27-yard scoring run and Lyndon Henderson caught two touchdown passes from Dawayne Howell.

Girls soccer

Norwin 5, Hempfield 0 — Kendyl Kranitz had two goals and Lexi Kendro, Bri Rose and Katy Ericson also scored as No. 2 Norwin (11-1, 7-1) won a Section 4-AAAA game. Sam Wexell made two saves to earn the shutout.
