Pittsburgh high school roundup: South Park girls clinch Section 3 title

The South Park girls soccer team made its first game in renovated Eagles Stadium a memorable one.
Led by goals from Carly Pcholinsky, Jordyn Minda and Nicole Clydesdale, No. 3 South Park defeated No. 4 Chartiers Valley, 3-1, to secure the Section 3-AAA title Monday night.
The Eagles (14-2-1, 13-1) and Colts (12-5-1, 11-3) will learn their playoff opponents when the pairings are released Wednesday.
Oakland Catholic 2, Obama 0 — Anna Sproule and Sophia Rizzo scored to lead Oakland Catholic (6-10, 6-8) to a Section 3-AAA win. Bridget Beasy posted the shutout.
Thomas Jefferson 10, West Mifflin 0 — Bella Sestito had three goals, and Lina Campano and Dalaney Ranallo each had two as Thomas Jefferson (14-3, 11-3) won a Section 3-AAA game.
South Fayette 4, Central Valley 1 — Rachel Weis and Brenna McGuire each scored twice to carry South Fayette (10-5-3, 8-5-1) to a win in Section 4-AAA. Megan Merritt scored for the Warriors (3-13-1, 2-11-1).
Waynesburg 9, McGuffey 0 — In Section 3-AA, Rhea Kijowski and Madison Clayton each scored three times to lead No. 3 Waynesburg (16-1, 12-0) to victory.
Serra Catholic 9, St. Joseph 1 — Madison Carr had four goals and Abigail Reith scored three as Serra Catholic (9-7, 8-4) won in Section 1-A.
Bentworth 6, Beth-Center 0 — Jocelyn Timlin had three goals, and Cande Kossell posted her seventh shutout of the season as Bentworth (11-4-1, 9-2-1) won a Section 2-A game.
Timlin surpassed Erin Ritzer for second all-time in career scoring at Bentworth, with 55.
Paige Marshalek passed assistant coach Heather Podrosky and into fourth place on the career scoring list, with 50 goals.
Boys soccer
Butler 12, Penn Hills 0 — In nonsection play, Tate Mahney had five goals and three assists to guide Butler (12-5) to victory.
North Allegheny 4, Hampton 1 — Josh Luchini scored four times, including three in the second half, as Class AAAA No. 2 North Allegheny (15-2-1) won a nonsection game.
