Franklin Regional senior basketball player Hunter Stonecheck plans to attend Sunday's Steelers-Patriots game, but he won't be rooting for Ben Roethlisberger and Co.
Stonecheck, who was born and raised near Pittsburgh, is a diehard Patriots fan. He wears his pride on his sleeve — and on his hats, and his shirts.
He said he loves all of the Boston teams. Tom Brady is his favorite football player and he doesn't care what anyone says about it.
His father, Scott, said he has tried to convert Hunter to black and gold years ago.
“I gave up years ago,” Scott said. “At least he's been consistent.”
Said Franklin Regional coach Steve Scorpion: “As long as he continues to play hard and helps us win, he can root for whatever team he wants. He and the other guys have been going back and forth, so that's been funny to listen to.”
