Clairton to allow only families, guardians at Friday’s game

Only the parents and guardians of players will be allowed to attend Friday night's boys basketball game at Clairton, the school's administration announced in response to an on-court brawl earlier this week.
Clairton hosts St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m.
“Pending the investigation into Tuesday night's basketball game, tonight's athletic event 2⁄9/18 will be closed to the public, with the exception of parents & guardians of participating student-athletes. We thank you for your cooperation,” Clairton administrators posted on the school's Twitter account @ClairtonSchool.
On Tuesday, the Clairton and Monessen boys basketball teams were involved in a fight that grew to include fans who left the stands. The game at Clairton was halted with 4 minutes, 26 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
The WPIAL board of directors has scheduled a hearing for Monday to examine how school administrators are addressing the issue.
