The boys basketball schedule Wednesday includes only four games, all from the Class 4A bracket. The top four teams received bye, so the matchups involve seeds Nos. 5-12, 6-11, 8-9 and 7-10.

CLASS 4A: FREEPORT VS. SOUTH FAYETTE AT CARDINAL WUERL NORTH CATHOLIC, 8 P.M.

Them again?

For the second year in a row, Freeport (15-6) and South Fayette (15-7) occupy the Nos. 7 and 10 slots in the WPIAL Class 4A bracket. South Fayette pulled off the upset last year and won the first-round matchup 63-60 as the No. 10 seed.

This time, South Fayette is the seven.

Freeport, which tied for second in Section 1, won 13 of its final 15 games behind Ben Beale, an 18-point scorer. South Fayette won eight of its last 10 and placed second in Section 3.

The two teams also met Dec. 19 in a tipoff tournament at Freeport. South Fayette won 49-46.

CLASS 4A: VALLEY VS SOUTH PARK AT NORTH HILLS, 8 P.M.

Valley last reached the WPIAL quarterfinals in 2009. South Park hasn't since 2004, despite winning preliminary round games in 2011 and 2013.

But one team will this year.

No. 8 seed Valley (13-4), which tied for second in Section 1, has two top scorers in Nyjewel Carter (20.4 ppg) and Dru Stokes (16.4.). No. 9 South Park (12-9) tied for third in Section 3.

CLASS 4A: CENTRAL VALLEY VS. UNIONTOWN AT PETERS TOWNSHIP, 8 P.M.

No. 5 seed Central Valley (14-7) enters as the favorite, but it runs into a Uniontown team that has two consistent scorers in senior Kam Fitzgerald (18.0) and sophomore Billy DeShields (15.5).

No. 12 Uniontown (13-9) tied South Park for third in Section 3.

Central Valley's top scorer is 6-8 senior Josh Kline (15.3).

The fourth Class 4A matchup pairs No. 6 Ambridge (12-9) and No. 11 Deer Lakes (12-9) at Fox Chapel at 8 p.m.
