Mike Coleman’s first offer was ultimately his favorite.
The Woodland Hills junior drew more than a dozen football scholarships before committing Saturday to Toledo, which offered him his first Jan. 15.
The 6-foot, 165-pound cornerback chose the Rockets over Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, Fordham, Howard, Hampton, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Morgan State, Norfolk State, Temple and Western Michigan.
Toledo had two former Woodland Hills players on last season’s roster: cornerback Trevon Mathis and running back Art Thompkins. A third, Wolverines senior Saeed Holt, signed with Toledo in December.
