Gateway grad Means runs record 100 time at Shippensburg invitational

Gateway graduate and Cal (Pa.) junior Jae'Len Means recorded the fastest time in the 100-meter dash in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference since 2006 with a winning time of 10.52 seconds at Saturday's Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University.
The time, recorded in the finals, also betters his own school record.
Means' previous best mark was 10.63, and he first broke the record in the preliminaries with a 10.55.
He won the 100 Saturday by nearly four-tenths of a second.
The PSAC record in the 100 is a 10.26 recorded by Millersville's Gerald Mack in 1996.
Means also claimed the 200 by posting a time of 21.48, nearly a quarter of a second faster than the rest of the field. The conference 200 record is a 21.01 posted by Dru Adighibe from Shippensburg in 2016.
Means will be back in action with his Cal teammates at the PSAC Championships May 3 to 5 at Slippery Rock University.
