Bishop Canevin's new boys basketball coach is already very familiar with the program.
Assistant coach and former Canevin athlete Gino Palmosino was promoted to head coach, athletic director Randy Cosgrove said Thursday, replacing Kevin Trost, who resigned in April.
Palmosino was an assistant for the past four seasons. The Duquesne University graduate works as chief of staff for Pittsburgh City Councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith.
Canevin went 5-17 last season, 4-10 in Section 3-2A.
