West Allegheny edges Hampton to move on to PIAA playoffs

Adam Crawford scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fifth inning to give West Allegheny a 6-5 victory over Hampton in the WPIAL Class 5A baseball consolation game Wednesday at Washington & Jefferson's Ross Memorial Park.

Shea Downing was 2 for 3 with three RBIs, and Evan Ferretti hit a two-run home run for the Indians (14-2), who will play District 10 champion Cathedral Prep in the PIAA first round Monday.

Burke Camper was 2 for 4 with two RBIs to lead Hampton (16-6).
