Two of the top high school golfers in the WPIAL and the state were named to the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association’s Palmer Cup team.

Franklin Regional senior Palmer Jackson, who is committed to Notre Dame, and Latrobe senior Brady Pevarnik, who is committed to Penn State, are on the team that will compete against some of the top country club professionals in the Tri-State PGA on Sept. 20 at Latrobe Country Club in the annual event, named after late legendary golfer Arnold Palmer.

Also named to the team were Greensburg’s Kevin Fajt and Arnold Cutrell, Harrison City’s Dave Antill, Ligonier’s David Brown and Peters Township’s Jimmy Ellis. There are 14 players on the team.

Jackson and Pevarnik have placed high in numerous WPGA events in 2018.
