Five days after winning another WPIAL individual title, North Allegheny golfer Caroline Wrigley will try to earn her Tigers their fourth consecutive team title.

The WPIAL Class AAA girls golf team tournament starts Monday with 10 teams competing at Rolling Acres Golf Club in Beaver Falls. Tee off is 9 a.m. The top four teams advance to the championship round Thursday at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon.

North Allegheny has won the title three years in a row.

The other contenders are Blackhawk, Butler, Fox Chapel, Franklin Regional, Mars, Mt. Lebanon, Penn-Trafford, Pine-Richland and Upper St. Clair.

Wrigley, a senior, earned her third consecutive WPIAL individual title last Wednesday.

Connellsville, Penn Hills boys soccer rematch

The Connellsville and Penn Hills boys soccer team will share the field Monday for the first time since their Sept. 6 game drew allegations of racial slurs. This rematch was postponed until after the WPIAL completed an investigation.

The teams will play at Penn Hills.

Girls soccer sections take shape

There’s a full schedule of section games in girls soccer Monday including a key Class 4A matchup when Moon visits Peters Township at 7:45 p.m. Peters leads Section 2 with a 10-3 record, just ahead of Moon (8-3) and Upper St. Clair (8-3).

However, Moon defeated Peters, 2-1, on Sept. 17.
