Herald spotlight athlete: Fox Chapel’s Christian Fitch

Christian Fitch, a junior on the Fox Chapel cross country team, finished first at the Division II, Section 4 championships Oct. 4.

He will attempt to qualify for the state meet for the third year in a row.

“I’m feeling confident heading into the playoffs,” he said. “I feel that I’m peaking at the right time.”

What’s the longest distance you’ve ever run?

I ran a half marathon once, 13.1 miles.

If you could go somewhere you’ve never been before, where would you go?

Italy.

If you were on “Dancing With the Stars,” who would you like your partner to be?

Jennifer Aniston.

What movie could you watch over and over?

“The Longest Yard.”

What was your costume the last time you went trick-or-treating?

I was the grim reaper.

What TV show makes you want to change the channel?

Any reality show.

Who is your favorite Pittsburgh athlete?

Geno Malkin.

What three words would describe you?

Hard-working, focused and relaxed.

Who would you like to see disappear from public view?

Any and all of the New England Patriots.

What would make up your favorite all-time meal?

Beef brisket, sweet potatoes with the marshmallows on top and pineapple stuffing. My grandmother makes great pineapple stuffing.

Is there a food you refuse to eat?

Mushrooms.

What is your favorite TV show?

I really don’t have one.

What junk food do you have a weakness for?

Dark chocolate.
