Seth Cohen
Highlands, sr., QB/S
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound signal caller begins his second full season as a starter. Cohen hopes Friday’s opener with Plum is the start of a run to a playoff spot for the Golden Rams. He threw for 2,001 yards and 24 touchdowns last year.
Klay Fitzroy
Apollo-Ridge, so., WR/DB
At 6-foot-3, Fitzroy is a sizable target for quarterback and fellow sophomore Jake Fello in the Vikings offense. Also expected to be a factor at defensive back, the versatile Fitzroy hauled in 18 passes for 224 yards and a touchdown in 2017 and added 52 carries for 240 yards and three scores.
Tyler Green
Valley, sr., QB/LB
The Vikings might be a run-heavy offense this season, but don’t count out seeing the veteran signal caller drop back and find a target on the outside more often than not. Green (6-0, 220) hopes to connect with the likes of Malique Richardson and Vaun Ross as Valley challenges for a playoff spot in the Class 2A Allegheny Conference.
Shane Susnak
Fox Chapel, jr., QB
After a taste of varsity experience in the running game last year, the 5-11, 175-pound junior now will get his shot at running the entire Foxes offense. He makes his debut under center Friday at Baldwin in a nonsection game between the Class 5A squads.
