No. 1 Knoch (19-0) vs. No. 8 Kiski Area (12-3)

7:30 p.m. Tuesday at North Allegheny

Winner plays: Winner of No. 4 Central Valley/No. 12 Hampton

Coaches: Diane Geist, Knoch; Paul Tomlinson, Kiski Area

Players to watch: Hannah Rowe, Jr., OH, Knoch; Cassie Shoupe Sr., OH/S, Kiski Area

Service points: Defending Class AAA WPIAL and PIAA champion Knoch topped Ambridge, 3-1, in the first round on Thursday. Rowe had 23 kills in the win over the Bridgers, and senior setter Kerrie Fitzpatrick had 41 assists. The Knights are riding a 43-match winning streak. … Kiski Area won a postseason match for the first time in eight years when it topped West Allegheny, 3-0, in the first round Wednesday. Shoupe had eight kills, and junior middle hitter Violeta Kenzevich recorded six kills. The Cavaliers finished second in Section 1 behind Armstrong, which is seeded second in the tournament.

No. 1 Freeport (14-2) vs. No. 8 Seton La Salle (11-4)

6 p.m. Tuesday at North Catholic

Winner plays: Winner of No. 4 Frazier/No. 12 Deer Lakes

Coaches: Tom Phillips, Freeport; Amy O’Keefe, Seton La Salle

Players to watch: Ally DeJidas, Sr, Opp., Freeport; Jenni Pitts, Sr., MH, Seton La Salle

Service points: Freeport, the defending Class AA PIAA champion and WPIAL runner-up, swept Waynesburg, 3-0, in the first round. DeJidas, a Mercyhurst softball recruit, and Lauren Lampus had eight kills apiece. The Yellowjackets have advanced to the WPIAL semifinals each of the last five years. … Seton La Salle recorded a 3-1 win over Southmoreland in the first round. Pitts is an Ithaca (N.Y.) recruit. The Rebels lost to the Yellowjackets in the quarterfinals in 2009 and ’16. They finished second behind Serra Catholic in Section 4.

No. 12 Deer Lakes (9-6) vs. No. 4 Frazier (17-1)

6 p.m. Tuesday at Moon

Winner plays: No. 1 Freeport/No. 8 North Catholic

Coaches: Terry Gaston, Deer Lakes; Mandy Hartman, Frazier

Players to watch: Kaylee Sciubba, Sr., MH, Deer Lakes; Skye Eicher, Jr., OH, Frazier

Service points: Deer Lakes scored a 3-2 upset win over No. 5 OLSH in the first round and won a postseason match for the second consecutive season after going the previous 20 without one. Scuibba had 13 kills and 10 blocks in the win. Lydia Fink had 11 kills and seven digs. The Lancers placed third in Section 5 behind Freeport and Derry. … Frazier, a state playoff team in Class A last year, knocked off Hopewell 3-1 in the first round. The Commodores went unbeaten in Section 3, claiming their 10th consecutive section championship. They lost to OLSH in the Class A semifinals last year.
