Aliquippa QB Marques Council Jr. commits to Yale

Aliquippa quarterback Marques Council Jr. is headed to the Ivy League.
The 6-foot-2, 191-pound rising senior announced his commitment to Yale via social media Monday night.
Council completed 81 of 169 passes (47.93%) for 1,477 yards, 16 touchdowns and three interceptions last season. He also had 36 carries for 115 yards (3.19 yards per carry) and two touchdowns.

With Council starting at quarterback, Aliquippa reached the 2024 WPIAL Class 4A semifinals. The Quips lost 38-21 to eventual WPIAL champion Thomas Jefferson. Aliquippa finished the 2024 season with a 7-3 record.
Council chose the Bulldogs over other Division I offers from Brown, Robert Morris, Sacred Heart, Temple and University of Pennsylvania, according to PAFootballNews.com.
