Clairton running back Tre’sean Howard celebrated senior night with three touchdowns, rushed for 194 yards, caught three passes for 92 yards and his return yardage easily gave him more than 300 all-purpose yards.

■ SPRINGDALE 42, GREENSBURG CENTRAL CATHOLIC 25
A punishing rushing attack paved the way as host Springdale wore down Greensburg Central Catholic, 42-25, Friday night in a Class A Eastern Conference game at Veterans Memorial Field.

■ PINE-RICHLAND 48, NORTH ALLEGHENY 28
Jordan Crawford ran for 242 yards, Kenny White had 209 and Phil Jurkovec added 178 as No. 1-ranked Pine-Richland (10-0, 6-0) stayed on the ground to win the Northern Seven title outright.

■ NORWIN 24, HEMPFIELD 14
Knights senior middle linebacker, John Piekut, made a lunging, one-handed interception and fell forward into the end zone for a 2-yard touchdown with 1 minute, 27 seconds remaining to seal a 24-14 victory over Hempfield at Spartan Stadium.

■ GATEWAY 33, FRANKLIN REGIONAL 17
Gateway (9-1, 7-1) took home the 33-17 victory against Franklin Regional (6-3, 5-3) thanks to a strong defensive performance that included touchdowns on a fumble recovery and a blocked punt.

■ FREEPORT 34, VALLEY 6
Freeport came within seconds of posting its third shutout of the season. But a 45-yard scamper for a touchdown by Valley quarterback Alex Ward on the final play of Friday’s Allegheny Conference contest got the Vikings on the board.

■ FOX CHAPEL 42, PLUM 14
The playoff-bound Foxes (6-4, 5-3 Allegheny 9) are on a five-game winning streak, and Plum finished the season 3-7, 3-5 Big East.
