Baldwin, Canon-McMillan win competitive spirit state titles

Baldwin and Canon-McMillan won state titles at the PIAA competitive spirit championships Saturday in Johnstown.
Baldwin took the top spot in the 3A Large Varsity division with 89.7 points, finishing just ahead of Norwin (88.5), Hempfield (86.8) and North Allegheny (82.5).
Canon-McMillan won the 3A Small Varsity division with 92.2 points, getting past runner-up Penn-Trafford. Thomas Jefferson (sixth) and South Fayette (10th) also reached the finals.
Neshannock took second place in the 2A Large Varsity division, finishing behind Bishop McCort. Central Valley took fifth.
Ambridge finished fourth, and Hampton was sixth in the 2A Small Varsity division, with Richland taking the title.
Butler was runner-up in the Coed Varsity division, finishing behind McDowell.
