The Bethel Park baseball program lost 11 seniors to graduation from this year’s playoff team, including Ryan Petras (IF), Ryan Walsh (P/OF), Joey Levis (P/OF), Jack Bruckner (OF), Noah LeJeune (IF), Dylan Paul (P/IF), Dylan Schumacher (P), Ethan Stanhoff (C/IF) and Owen White (P/IF) and reserves Aaron Hofbauer (OF) and Brian Bitkowski (OF).
Petras (IF), Schumacher (P), LeJeune (DH) and junior Mike Bruckner (UTL) were chosen as first-team Big 56 Section 2-5A all-stars following the 2025 season.
Jack Bruckner (OF) and Stanhoff (C) were second-team selections.
Spotless record
Pat Zehnder has been a solid fixture in the successful Bethel Park baseball program for the past decade.
The 2025 season was his fifth as field boss and sixth overall (his first season was cancelled due to covid). Zehnder served as Bethel Park’s junior varsity coach the four previous years.
Following the 2020 covid season, Zehnder’s teams haven’t missed the WPIAL or PIAA playoffs once and have captured four section championships, missing out of a section title in 2022.
The Black Hawks have compiled 22-4, 21-4, 18-6, 16-8-1 and 20-6 records since 2021, finishing as WPIAL runners-up in 2021, 2023 and 2024 and third place in the district in 2022 and 2025.
Bethel Park won the state championship in 2021 and 2022, and advanced to the PIAA final eight the past three years. Zehnder was lauded as the coach of the year in Section 1-5A.
BP grad leads Eagles
Did you know that South Park baseball coach Corey Fischer is a Bethel Park High School and Waynesburg University graduate?
Fischer took over as head coach of the South Park program in 2024 and led the Eagles to a 13-8 record against WPIAL Class 3A competition.
This year, South Park advanced to both the WPIAL and PIAA semifinals and ended up 17-8 overall.
Volleyball honors
Three Bethel Park athletes were honored as all-section players in boys volleyball this year, led by sophomore outside hitter Joey Boff on the second team in Section 1-3A.
Third-team honorees for the Black Hawks were Ryan Burns, a junior setter, and Jacob Meyer, a senior outside hitter.
Boff and Meyer also landed all-section accolades at the outside hitter position in 2024.
Softball award
Bethel Park’s Anastasia Spano, a junior infielder this spring, was named as a Big 56 all-section selection in Class 5A.
Spano was a first team honoree in Section 4-5A.
