Alexander Komov’s goal with a minute and a half left in overtime gave Bishop McCort a thrilling, 3-2 victory over Meadville in the PIHL Class A Penguins Cup championship game Monday night at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry.
It was the seventh title for the Crimson Crushers, who last won in 2005.
Aliaksei Kosterau scored twice for Bishop McCort (23-0), which advances to play Bayard Rustin for the state championship Saturday in West Chester.
Cohl Weber and Alec Gizzie scored for Meadville (19-4), which was looking for its 10th championship. It won the Division II championship last season.
Bulldogs goalie Eddie Kaufman made 43 saves.
