Burrell’s Isaac Lacinski was added to the WPIAL All-Star Team for the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic on Saturday at Peters Township.

When two-time state champ Asher Cunningham of State College, a Penn State recruit, pulled out of the event, there was an opening at 172 pounds on Team Pennsylvania, which will meet the United States All-Star team in the main event at 6 p.m.

That vacancy was filled by Thomas Jefferson’s Bode Marlow, the state runner-up who lost 12-6 to Cunningham in the PIAA Class 3A finals earlier this month.

Marlow, a Pitt recruit who is 50-4 with 25 tech falls this season, was originally scheduled to wrestle for the WPIAL All-Star Team, so his promotion created a spot for Lacinski, a Gardner-Webb recruit.

Lacinski will face one of the top wrestlers on the New Jersey All-Star team, Jordan Chapman of Cranford High School, a Rutgers recruit who is ranked No. 10 in the country. The meet is scheduled to start at 4:15 p.m.

Lacinski went 42-13 this season to run his career record to 134-54 with 67 pins.

Marlow joins Thomas Jefferson teammate Maddox Shaw (152) as the only WPIAL representatives on Team Pennsylvania. Marlow will take on Oklahoma State recruit LaDarion Lockett of Stillwater, Okla., the top-ranked 172-pounder in the country.

The WPIAL All-Star lineup features Latrobe’s Leo Joseph (121) and Luke Willochell (133), Indiana’s Nico Fanella (127), Pine-Richland’s Dominic Ferraro (139), Baldwin’s Ramil Islamov (145), Connellsville’s Evan Petrovich (152) and Lonzy Vielma (160), Kiski Area’s Mark Gray (189), Fort Cherry’s Braedon Welsh (189), Ringgold’s Jake Conroy (215) and Thomas Jefferson’s Shepherd Turk (285).
