Bushy Run evens up American Legion District 31 semifinal series with Hempfield East

Jon Lovre went 3 for 4 with a double, RBI and run scored and was the winning pitcher, allowing three runs, two earned, with six strikeouts in six innings as Bushy Run defeated Hempfield East, 8-3, to even their best-of-three District 31 American Legion baseball semifinal series Sunday.
Game 3 is set for 5:30 p.m. Monday at Pitt Greensburg.
Jordan White went 2 for 3 with a run scored and RBI, Carmen Metcalfe went 1 for 3 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI, and R Andrew pitched a scoreless seventh inning for Bushy Run. Tyler Martin and Brody Chismar each went 3 for 4 for Hempfield East.
Lower Burrell vs. Latrobe, suspended – Game 2 of a best-of-three District 31 semifinal series was suspended with Lower Burrell winning 5-4 with Latrobe batting with two outs in the top of the seventh. If Lower Burrell wins, the series will be tied and Game 3 will be played immediately following he conclusion of Game 2 at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Legion Keener Park.
Austen McLafferty went 3 for 4 with a run scored and Ryan Bates went 2 for 3 and scored twice for Lower Burrell. Mason Fridley went 2 for 3 with a run scored and two RBIs for Latrobe.
