The NCAA Division II playoff field has been announced and for the fifth consecutive year, the California Vulcans are in the field. The Vulcans, 9-2 overall, were selected as the fifth seed in Super Region One and will host fourth seeded Elizabeth City State on Saturday at Adamson Stadium, with kickoff set for noon.

The Vikings, 8-3 overall, were the runners-up in the CIAA to top seed Winston-Salem State, who defeated Elizabeth City State 38-13 in their conference championship game on Saturday. The Vulcans shared the PSAC-West title with Slippery Rock.

The winner of Saturday’s game will travel to North Carolina to meet Winston-Salem State on November 26th.

Only one other PSAC team made the field, League champion Kutztown, fresh off their 21-14 victory over Slippery Rock in the State Title Game, will host Concord, the WVIAC champion on Saturday. The winner of that game moves on to the second round, traveling to second seeded New Haven.

With Concord claiming the final spot, that likely knocked Bloomsburg out of the field, the Huskies were ranked sixth in the final regional poll last week. Bloomsburg was a 34-3 winner over Lock Haven on Saturday, the Bald Eagles have the longest current losing streak of any NCAA school at 42 games.

In Division III, the PAC champion Thomas More Saints, at 9-1, will hit the road for their opening game, traveling to Indiana to meet Franklin College at noon on Saturday. Franklin won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship with a 9-1 record. The winner of that game faces either defending D-III champion Wisconsin-Whitewater or Albion College.

Two other teams from the Presidents Athletic Conference will make ECAC bowl appearances. Waynesburg will travel to Widener for the South Atlantic Bowl, while Saint Vincent heads to Lebanon Valley for the Southwest Bowl. Both games are Saturday.
