Franklin Regional is looking for a new girls basketball coach after the resignation of Courtney Callas.
Callas said she stepped down because of time constraints that put pressure on her family and work life.
The Freeport graduate had a record of 28-38 with the Panthers over three seasons and took the team to the WPIAL playoffs once.
Franklin Regional finished 8-13 last season and missed the postseason.
“It breaks my heart to step away from basketball and from this program,” Callas said. “But I am unable to continue to dedicate the time it takes to make and build a good program. It was a difficult decision, but I have to focus on my business and family right now. I am thankful for the opportunity Franklin Regional gave me and even more thankful for the kids that I have coached over the past three years.”
Callas was an assistant at Seton Hill before taking over the reins on Murrysville.
