Chartiers Valley may start looking for a new football coach.
The district’s school board was poised to open the jobs of coach Aaron Fitzpatrick and his assistants, according to the agenda for Tuesday night’s meeting. Chartiers Valley went 8-22 in three seasons under Fitzpatrick.
The Colts finished 3-6 this fall with a 1-4 record in the Big Six. Fitzpatrick’s teams went 6-13 in conference play overall and reached the playoffs once, losing in the first round last year.
The board agenda said 13 football coaching positions would not be “automatically reappointed for the 2025-26 school year and shall be opened” to applicants. The list included varsity and middle school coaches.
Fitzpatrick was hired in 2022 to replace head coach Dan Knause, who left Chartiers Valley for Trinity. An elementary school teacher in the district, Fitzpatrick had served as an assistant coach at Chartiers Valley since 2013.
