Derry, Burrell send 4 to semifinals at PIAA Class 2A Southwest Regional

Derry and Burrell each have four wrestlers in the semifinals and five others alive in the consolation bracket, leading the WPIAL contingent on the first day of the PIAA Class 2A Southwestern Regional on Friday in Altoona.
Anthony Mucci (133), Mason Horwat (152), Ewan Olson (160) and Brady Brown (189) advanced to the semifinals for the Trojans. Carter Thomas (121), Julian Bertucci (139), Calio Zanella (152) and Isaac Lacinski (172) are alive in the championship bracket for the Bucs.
Frazier has three wrestlers in the semifinals: Jonah Erdely (152), Ryan Celaschi (160) and Jackson Angelo (172).
Bentworth and Elizabeth Forward each sent two wrestlers through to the semifinals: Drake McClure (133) and Owen Ivcic (16) for the Bearcats and Preston Bubash (114) and Lucas Boyer (145) for the Warriors.
