The Ellwood City School Board accepted the resignation of Jason Bumblis on Thursday. Bumblis served the last three seasons at Lincoln High, after coming to Ellwood City from OLSH. The Wolverines were 17-53 in the last three seasons, including 7-15 in 2010, as the Wolverines were alive for a playoff spot until the final day of the regular season.

Bumblis is expected to take at least a year off from coaching, he told the Beaver County Times he wanted to spend more time with his family. Ellwood City is expected to move quickly to name a new head coach, maybe even as soon as this week.

Two former head coaches teach in the district, Mark Stanley, who won a WPIAL title at Union and former coach Al Campman, both could be considered by the board.
