Five new champions and one repeat performer have been crowned in the PIAA boys basketball championships.

It was a golden state postseason for the Philadelphia Catholic League.

Father Judge in 6A, Neumann-Goretti in 5A, Devon Prep in 4A and West Catholic in 3A all won PIAA gold.

It was back-to-back state crowns for Devon Prep, the 10th state title for Neumann-Goretti, second in three years for West Catholic and first PIAA championship for Father Judge.

Two other first-time winners were Linville Hill Christian Academy in 2A and The Neighborhood Academy in A.

Thanks to the Philly Catholic League, District 12 captured four boys basketball state championships with one each for the WPIAL and District 3.

The only top-ranked team from last week’s Trib HSSN state rankings not to win was South Allegheny in 3A.
