The weekly Trib HSSN PIAA baseball rankings looked more like the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace after a busy week of district postseason play this past week.
Thirteen baseball teams dropped out of the state Top 5 with at least two changes in all six classifications.
The two biggest classes saw the No. 1 team fall completely out of this week’s rankings as Pennsbury in Class 6A and West Allegheny in 5A saw their district title hopes dashed.
Other significant changes included:
Four other WPIAL teams joined West Allegheny on the outside looking in as Greensburg Salem, Neshannock, Shenango and Vincentian Academy all lost in either the quarterfinals or semifinals.
Of the 13 new kids on the rankings block, four are WPIAL teams, including Pine-Richland, Blackhawk, Hopewell and Seton LaSalle.
