Player of the Year
Emily McKee, Jr., F, Fox Chapel
With six- and seven-goal games this season — the seven came in a playoff game — Emily McKee was a volume scorer for Fox Chapel.
She had 49 goals for the year and put more than 100 into back of the net for her career.
But with individual fortune came team triumph.
The Fox Chapel junior midfielder led the Foxes to their second WPIAL championship in three years.
Her achievements made her an easy choice for TribLive HSSN Girls Soccer Player of the Year.
Marked in just about every game, McKee helped Fox Chapel (20-2-1) take the WPIAL 3A championship with a 1-0 win over South Fayette in double overtime at Highmark Stadium, which isn’t far from her future college destination, Pitt.
McKee, who was one of three finalists for the Moe Rosensteel Outstanding Player of the Year Award for the WPIAL’s top player, has 108 career goals.
