Adalina Bracco had two hits and three RBIs to lead Thomas Jefferson to a 12-8 win over Trinity in a matchup of Section 4-5A softball title contenders Tuesday.
Madden Stanek hit two singles and drove in a run for the Jaguars (7-5, 5-2). Maddie Ray went 3 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs and Gabriella Humphreys also had three hits for the Hillers (8-6, 6-2).
Avella 9, Beth-Center 7 – Avery Rado went 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI and Emily Buel tripled and drove in three runs to lead Avella (3-8, 2-4) to a Section 2-A win. Kendall Walsh went 4 for 4 with a double and triple and Bella Stepp doubled and drove in a run for Beth-Center (2-8, 2-4).
Avonworth 11, Hopewell 5 – Ali Linhart struck out 13 while Sydney Savatt (3 for 5) had two doubles and two RBIs in a Section 2-3A win for Avonworth (7-4, 3-2). Emma Obersteiner doubled and plated three runs and Jayla Jones doubled and drove in one for the Antelopes. Victoria Mann (2-for-2) had a double and a home run while also recording three RBIs for Hopewell (5-6, 2-4).
Baldwin 8, Connellsville 0 – Reese Temme went 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs and Gabby Jaquay and Camryn Temme hit a home run apiece to lead Baldwin (11-3, 7-2) to a Section 4-5A win. Kalyn Cole hit a double and Cali Leichliter hit two singles for Connellsville (7-3, 3-3).
Beaver 14, Central Valley 3 – Cali Coups and Olivia Peabody had a double and three RBIs apiece to lead Beaver (9-3, 4-2) to a Section 3-4A win. Emma Weaver went 3 for 3 and London Banks hit a home run for Central Valley (3-6, 1-5).
Belle Vernon 17, Ringgold 3 – Kaylee Sypolt and Katie Sokol had a home run and three RBIs apiece, Lily Crawford doubled and Mailey Hayes drove in three runs to lead Belle Vernon (7-8, 5-4) to a Section 2-4A win. Alice Ramous had a double and two RBIs for Ringgold (0-13, 0-7).
Blackhawk 9, Western Beaver 2 – Kylie Pristua hit two home runs and drove in four runs and Mia Yenges hit two doubles for Blackhawk (6-3, 4-2) in a Section 3-4A win. Kaitlyn Zele hit a home run and Bella Colatriano doubled for Western Beaver (4-7, 3-3).
Burgettstown 17, Fort Cherry 0 – Brooklyn Robinson threw a three-inning one-hitter and struck out five for Burgettstown (5-6, 2-3) in a Section 3-2A win. Amelia Michelucci hit a single for Fort Cherry (0-9, 0-5). Robinson tripled and drove in two runs and Layla Sherman and Madison Keating hit a double apiece for the Blue Devils.
Burrell 8, Mt. Pleasant 3 – Pyper Ferres hit a home run and Christian Gural and Sabrina Hoover hit a double apiece for Burrell (6-8, 2-5) in a Section 1-3A win. Dani Trainer hit two singles and drove in a run for Mt. Pleasant (8-4, 6-1).
Carlynton 19, Sto-Rox 2 – Sarah Loney, Hanalee Nordeen and Lucy Vetter doubled and Andi Fogle drove in three runs for Carlynton (3-8) in a nonsection win over Sto-Rox (0-7).
Carmichaels 15, Mapletown 0 – Bailey Barnyak threw a three-inning no-hitter and struck out seven for Carmichaels (9-0, 5-0) in a Section 2-A win over Mapletown (3-8, 1-5). Ke’lani Chun went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs and Ali Jacobs tripled and drove in two runs for the Mighty Mikes.
Chartiers-Houston 12, OLSH 0 – Lauren Rush went 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs, Meadow Ferri went 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs and Ella Richey hit a double and home run to lead Chartiers-Houston (12-1, 6-0) in a Section 3-2A win. Sophia Wasko, Mya Eshenbaugh and Kaylee Seskey singled for OLSH (6-4, 4-1).
Elizabeth Forward 12, Laurel Highlands 0 – Samantha Malek hit three doubles, Addy Nigut had a double and three RBIs and Berlyn Holibaugh homered for Elizabeth Forward (9-2, 7-1) in a Section 2-4A win. Emelia Cavaliere went 2 for 2 with a double for Laurel Highlands (5-7, 4-4).
Greensburg Salem 19, Valley 1 – Alle Scarpa homered twice and drove in four runs and winning pitcher Sammie Reusser struck out eight in five innings to lead Greensburg Salem (8-4, 4-4) past Valley (0-10, 0-6) in Section 1-4A. Hannah Olbeter went 3 for 3 with two doubles and a home run, Cate Waugaman had four hits and Patty Redinger singled, doubled twice and drove in two runs for the Golden Lions.
Hampton 12, Ambridge 2; Hampton 15, Ambridge 0 – Hampton (9-3, 8-0) swept Ambridge (2-8, 0-7) in a Section 3-4A doubleheader. In the first game, Eden Lawrence went 3 for 3 with a double and Katelyn Dubee and Marissa Snyder had a double and two RBIs apiece for the Talbots. Gianna Georgakis, Mackenzie Keber and Riley Davis doubled for the Bridgers. In the second game, Lawrence hit a double and triple, Alena Zottola doubled and Cassie Vidic drove in three runs for Hampton. Taylor Thompson and Keber doubled for Ambridge.
Hempfield 10, Canon-McMillan 0 – Ella Berkebile and Riley Miller went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs apiece and Lauren Howard hit a two-run homer to lead Hempfield (13-0, 9-0) to a Section 1-6A win over Canon-McMillan (8-7, 6-6). Miller threw a five-inning two-hitter with eight strikeouts.
Highlands 10, Freeport 0 – Madison Gourney threw a five-inning one-hitter and struck out seven for Highlands (6-5, 4-3) in a Section 1-4A win over Freeport (4-9, 1-7). Carrah Scardina and Mallory Zendarski drove in two runs apiece for the Rams.
Jeannette 2, Serra Catholic 1 – Jeannette (5-3, 4-0) scored the winning run on an error in a Section 3-A win over Serra Catholic (4-5, 4-1). Winning pitcher Grace Stein struck out 15 and allowed four hits for the Jayhawks.
Leechburg 8, Greensburg Central Catholic 6; Greensburg Central Catholic 11, Leechburg 7 – Adalyn Zanotto and Emily Talarico had a single, double and two RBIs apiece to lead Leechburg (5-4, 3-2) to a Section 3-A win. Madison Keller doubled and drove in two runs for Greensburg Central Catholic (1-2, 1-2). In the second game, Abigail Dei went 3 for 3 with a triple and four RBIs and Amya Clawson went 2 for 4 with three RBIs for the Centurions. Talarico hit a double and triple and Madison Weitzel hit two triples for the Blue Devils.
McGuffey 9, Charleroi 1 – Courtney Bedillion went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and Miley Main doubled and drove in a run for McGuffey (8-4, 5-2) in a Section 3-3A win. Lyla Brunner went 2 for 3 with a double for Charleroi (4-6, 2-2).
New Brighton 24, Aliquippa 1 – Julia Boffo went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs for New Brighton (5-6, 4-4) in a Section 1-2A win over Aliquippa (0-8, 0-8).
North Allegheny 12, Pine-Richland 0 – Leah Carlson went 4 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs, Erin Fadgen went 2 for 2 with a home run and four RBIs and MaKenna Rowlands doubled to lead North Allegheny (8-6, 7-4) to a Section 1-6A win. Maddy Myers hit a double for Pine-Richland (10-4, 7-4). Sammy Plotsko threw five scoreless innings for the Tigers.
Penn-Trafford 13, McKeesport 1 – Cameron Ponko hit a home run, Kylie Anthony tripled and Isabella Rubbe doubled for Penn-Trafford (12-1, 9-0) in a Section 2-5A win. Jessica Miller hit a double for McKeesport (2-9, 1-8).
Quaker Valley 19, Beaver Falls 7 – Olivia Hoose (three hits, five RBIs) and Gemma Wiegand (three hits, four RBIs) each doubled three times in a Section 2-3A win for Quaker Valley (3-4, 1-3). Isabella Jarrett and Grace Carver each had three hits and tripled for the Quakers. Zhekiyah Reddick went 3 for 3 and drove in a run for Beaver Falls (1-4, 1-4).
Riverside 2, Shenango 1 – Charlie Bissell had a walk-off RBI bunt single for Riverside (4-6, 4-3) in a Section 1-2A win over Shenango (6-6, 5-3). Winning pitcher Ayla Sterner gave up one unearned run on five hits in eight innings.
Seneca Valley 13, Butler 3 – Olivia Herrem had two home runs and three RBIs, Abby Kalkowski hit two doubles and Paige Volz tripled and drove in two runs to lead Seneca Valley (10-2, 8-2) to a Section 1-6A win. Shylee Karenbauer hit a home run for Butler (2-12, 2-9).
Sewickley Academy 15, Bishop Canevin 1 – Charlotte Andrews threw a complete game one-hitter and struck out 18 for Sewickley Academy (9-1, 6-1) in a Section 1-A win. Lizzy Fuchs hit a single for Bishop Canevin (2-7, 1-5). Quincy Sirko had a double, home run and three RBIs and Marie Bigi went 5 for 5 with two doubles and four RBIs for the Panthers.
South Allegheny 14, Northgate 1 – Aubrey Pacewicz went 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs and Cadence McBride and Sydney Gordon hit a double apiece for South Allegheny (10-1, 6-0) in a Section 2-2A win. Bayleigh Hooper and Michaela DeFlorimonte hit a double apiece for Northgate (7-5, 2-4).
South Fayette 9, Chartiers Valley 5 – Maddie Cavenaugh had a triple, home run and three RBIs in a Section 3-5A win for South Fayette (9-3, 4-1). Makenna Galish doubled and drove in two runs and Brenna Dunn tripled and had an RBI for the Lions. Gianna Scalise (two RBIs) and Delaney O’Connor (two hits, RBI) both doubled for Chartiers Valley (8-4, 5-1).
Southmoreland 14, Ligonier Valley 2 – Makayla Etling went 4 for 4 with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs and Riley Puckey had a double and home run and two RBIs for Southmoreland (6-4, 4-2) in a Section 1-3A win. Sydnee Foust went 2 for 2 with a triple and RBI for Ligonier Valley (2-8, 2-3). Makayla Brown, Taylor Doppleheuer and Zoey Murphy also homered for the Scotties.
Steel Valley 13, East Allegheny 1 – Ana Weher went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs and Elaina Tichon went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs to lead Steel Valley (4-7, 2-5) in a Section 3-3A win. Alaysia Crawford singled for East Allegheny (0-9, 0-6).
Waynesburg 12, Washington 1 – Gina Tedrow threw a five-inning one-hitter and struck out 11 for Waynesburg (7-4, 4-1) in a Section 4-2A win. Tateionna Warren hit a triple for Washington (4-5, 0-5). Tedrow went 3 for 4 with two doubles and four RBIs and Eva Pester hit a double and triple for the Raiders.
West Mifflin 1, Uniontown 0 – Abby Jakubovic hit a sacrifice fly in the second inning to score the lone run for West Mifflin (9-4, 7-1) in a Section 2-4A win over Uniontown (7-6, 5-4). Winning pitcher Rylie Dobnak struck out 11 and allowed two hits in seven innings for the Titans.
Yough 8, Deer Lakes 1 – Jaidyn Vay went 3 for 4 with a triple and an RBI and Shiann Kaefer drove in three runs to lead Yough (4-6, 2-4) to a Section 1-3A win. Riley Jones hit a double for Deer Lakes (5-9, 3-4).

Allderdice 2, Mars 1 – Brendan Stecik doubled and brought home a run and winning pitcher Donovan Snelsire went seven innings and gave up one run on four hits and struck out four as Allderdice (4-1, 2-1) beat Mars (5-7, 1-6) in Section 3-5A. Zachary Rozman drove in a run for the Fightin’ Planets.
Apollo-Ridge 12, Carlynton 2 – Richard Peach and Parker Gourley each brought home three runs and Noah Stewart got the win as Apollo-Ridge (3-6, 3-5) cruised to a Section 3-2A victory against Carlynton (2-10, 0-7). Alexander Clawson knocked in two runs and Gage Wingard went 3 for 3 with an RBI for the Vikings.
Avonworth 17, East Allegheny 0 – Case Latore crushed a grand slam, doubled and finished with five RBIs, winning pitcher Cooper Scharding doubled and drove in three and Michael Libbon added a pair of RBIs as Avonworth (12-2, 7-0) battered East Allegheny (0-10, 0-7) in Section 2-3A. Donald Jones Jr. doubled for the Tigers.
Baldwin 5, Connellsville 3 – Ethan Hebling smashed a two-run single in the top of the eighth to lift Baldwin (6-5, 5-2) past Connellsville (8-4, 4-3) in Section 4-5A. Ethan Porreca and Chase Stankovich each drove in a run for the Falcons. Hudson McKain and Nick Burg finished with an RBI each and Cooper Sturgis got the win for the Highlanders.
Belle Vernon 10, Charleroi 0 – Alonzo Wade went 2 for 3 with a triple and RBI and Connor Bergman and Lucas Judy doubled and drove in a run apiece for Belle Vernon (9-2) in a nonsection win over Charleroi (6-5).
Beth-Center 8, Freedom 7 – Jonah Sussan hit the game-tying RBI single and Jackson Nopawaskey followed with the walk-off run-scoring single to lead Beth-Center (3-7) to a nonsection win. Luke Amon went 4 for 4 with three runs scored and Santino Revi drove in three runs for Beth-Center. Xavier Robbins went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs and Tommy Ward had two hits and three RBIs for Freedom (7-6).
Bethel Park 5, Moon 3 – Ethan Stanhoff tripled and drove in a run, Owen White and Noah LeJeune each knocked in a run and Dylan Schumacher picked up a win as Bethel Park (10-4, 6-3) bested Moon (3-7, 3-4) in Section 2-5A. Owen Amey went 3 for 3 with an RBI for the Tigers.

Ryan White doubled and knocked in a run for Brashear (1-4).

Owen Shuglie went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Spartans.
Carrick 5, Obama Academy 4 – Eli Wittman walked it off with a two-run single to give Carrick (5-5, 4-0) a City League win. Clark Ehman doubled and plated two runs while Braylon Johnson had two hits and an RBI for Obama Academy (4-3, 2-1).
Eden Christian 15, Monessen 0 – Brady Hull went 2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs, Levi DeFazio and Jacob Janicki each drove in two runs and Christian Watkins picked up the win as Eden Christian (10-2, 7-2) blanked Monessen (0-12, 0-6) in Section 3-A.
Elizabeth Forward 3, Albert Gallatin 1 – Joseph Crovak slapped an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth to lift Elizabeth Forward (9-2, 6-1) past Albert Gallatin (4-7, 4-5) in Section 2-4A. Winning pitcher Cy Herchelroath gave up one unearned run on two hits and struck out nine in seven innings while driving in a run and A.J. Grese plated a run for the Warriors. Matt Malinsky went 2 for 3 for the Colonials.
Ellwood City 15, Beaver Falls 0 – Will Nardone doubled and drove in two runs, Sam Landis was 2 for 2 with a pair of RBIs and winning pitcher Owen Andrews gave up one hit and struck out six in four innings as Ellwood City (10-4, 5-2) rocked Beaver Falls (2-7, 1-5) in Section 1-3A.
Fort Cherry 8, Chartiers-Houston 7 – Landon Trnavsky (3 for 5, double) and Ryan Huey (2 for 4, home run) each drove in two runs in a Section 1-2A win for Fort Cherry (8-4, 6-1). Dominic Cumer doubled and had three RBIs for Chartiers-Houston (6-5,3-5).
Franklin Regional 3, Armstrong 0 – N.J. Ramchandran threw five no-hit innings and struck out nine and Anthony Mitchell drove in two runs in a Section 1-5A win for Franklin Regional (9-3, 5-2). James Templeton gave up a hit and fanned a batter in two innings to pick up the save for the Panthers. Carson DeLano had the only hit for Armstrong (6-8, 4-5).
Frazier 1, California 0 – Brant Alekson earned the win for Frazier (7-5, 3-4) after relinquishing just two hits and striking out six in a Section 1-2A win. Logan Solomon singled and plated a run while Alekson finished 2 for 3. Weston Monticelli went 2 for 3 for California (4-6-2, 4-3).
Freeport 13, Burrell 5 – Kason Barker tripled and drove in four runs, Michael Hanz doubled twice and had a pair of RBIs, and Owen Westendorf got the win for Freeport (7-5, 4-3) in a Section 3-3A victory. Rayden Shirey, Parker Logut, Ryan Wass and Adam Wass each knocked in a run for Burrell (6-5, 6-3).
Greensburg Central Catholic 7, Avella 0 – Tyler Samide struck out three in 6⅔ shutout innings and drove in a run at the plate and Stephen Kochis knocked in two runs to lead Greensburg Central Catholic (7-2, 5-1) to a Section 1-A win against Avella (10-3, 6-3). Sean Walker, Jackson McMullen, Bobby Smithnosky and Anthony Grippo each knocked in a run for the Centurions.
Hopewell 8, Hampton 1 – Logan Triscila and James Gill each drove in two runs, Kingston Krotec went 3 for 4 and Davis Medich got the win as Hopewell (4-10, 3-4) beat Hampton (4-9, 3-6) in Section 1-4A. Ethan Phillips doubled and drove in a run for the Talbots.
Indiana 10, Knoch 5 – Mark Collinger went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs and Ethan Shank knocked in four runs as Indiana (12-0, 7-0) defeated Knoch (8-8, 4-3) in Section 3-4A. Sean Morgan and Cody Stull each drove in a run for the Knights. Greg Minnick earned the win for the Indians.

Keystone Oaks 2, Brownsville 0 – Winning pitcher Nathan Rohe gave up two hits and stuck out 13 in a complete game shutout as Keystone Oaks (6-5, 3-4) blanked Brownsville (4-6, 3-6) in Section 4-3A. Brady McDine and Ian Bickel each drove in a run for the Eagles. Noah Petroff doubled for the Falcons.

Ligonier Valley 8, Yough 7 – Owen Smith delivered a walk-off single in the 11th to lift Ligonier Valley (4-7, 3-4) over Yough (2-8, 2-5) in Section 3-3A. Gavin Moore had two RBIs, Austin Harr went 3 for 5 with an RBI, and Miles Smith got the win for the Rams. Nate Bell was a single short of the cycle and drove in three runs for the Cougars.
Mohawk 17, Sto-Rox 0 – Winning pitcher Briar Crawford tossed five no-hit innings and struck out 11 for Mohawk (6-5, 4-3) in a Section 1-3A win over Sto-Rox (0-10, 0-6). Bobby Fadden and Jackson Chapman each tripled and knocked in three runs while Cash Stratton went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs for the Warriors.

Mt. Lebanon 16, Woodland Hills 4 – Graham Keen smashed a home run and drove in five runs, Maddox Yost doubled and drove in three, and winning pitcher Owen Humes and Dane Barber each had a pair of RBIs to power Mt. Lebanon (5-9, 4-3) to a Section 2-6A win over Woodland Hills (2-7, 0-7).
Mt. Pleasant 11, Southmoreland 1 – Connor Drzal and Cole Chatfield each drove in three runs and winning pitcher Jacob Kitz gave up one run on two hits and fanned nine as Mt. Pleasant (9-4, 7-2) dropped Southmoreland (1-10, 0-7) in Section 3-3A. Brenden Geho drove in the only run for the Scotties. Sonny Marne went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Vikings.
Neshannock 11, Shenango 0 – Winning pitcher Jake Rynd struck out eight while allowing one hit over five innings in a Section 2-2A win for Neshannock (9-3, 5-2). Ryan Cameron went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, and Rynd (2 for 2) doubled and had an RBI for the Lancers. Hunter Wilson contributed two hits and two RBIs.

Norwin 3, Latrobe 2 – Nate Silberman singled, tripled and had an RBI to lead Norwin (8-6, 6-3) to a nonsection win. Trevor Vitsas also tripled and winning pitcher Brayden Wardzinski plated one run for the Knights. Luke Smith and Brody Rumon each doubled and drove in a run for Latrobe (9-4, 6-2).
OLSH 6, South Side 5 – Chad Minton had an RBI groundout in the bottom of the sixth to break the 5-5 tie for OLSH (8-5, 6-1) in a Section 3-2A win. Carter Wilson and Andrew Madeja drove in two runs apiece for South Side (6-4, 5-2). Thomas Medwig hit two doubles and Anthony Hansen doubled for the Chargers.
Penn-Trafford 17, Penn Hills 0 – Winning pitcher Johnny Lovre threw six shutout innings, allowing one run and striking out eight, while Jason Malamisuro and Hunter Brown each drove in a pair of runs as Penn-Trafford (9-5, 5-2) thumped Penn Hills (0-12, 0-9) in Section 1-5A.
Plum 17, Kiski Area 13 – Plum (11-2, 6-1) scored four runs in the top of the seventh to escape a Section 1-5A slugfest with Kiski Area (2-9, 1-6). Brennan Ryan drove in five runs, winning pitcher Max Vollmer hit a home run, a pair of doubles and drove in three while Dan Macioce knocked in two for the Mustangs. Lucas Klimkowski homered and plated three runs and Zach Hald doubled twice and finished with three RBIs for the Cavaliers.
Ringgold 4, Uniontown 0 – Winning pitcher Tyler Fisher struck out six and allowed no runs on two hits for Ringgold (5-8, 4-5) in a Section 2-4A win over Uniontown (2-8, 0-7). Gavin Angotti and Andrew Sprinkle hit a double apiece for the Rams.
Riverside 4, Quaker Valley 1 – Zack Hare went 2 for 4 with a home run and a pair of RBIs, Sean Hayes knocked in a run and winning pitcher Hunter Garvin struck out five and gave up a run on three hits for Riverside (10-2, 6-1) in a Section 1-3A win. Henry Zupanc doubled for Quaker Valley (8-4, 4-3).
Riverview 10, Springdale 0 – Winning pitcher Lukas Duncan gave up two hits and struck out nine in a complete game shutout and helped his cause with a pair of RBIs to lead Riverview (11-2, 8-1) to a Section 3-2A win. Carter Loughren knocked in three and Miles Duncan drove in a run for the Raiders. Alex Wylly and Noah Robbins each had a hit for Springdale (2-6, 1-5).
Rochester 11, St. Joseph 2 – Winning pitcher Justin Schurr yielded two runs on three hits and struck out 13 in a complete game while Keegan Currie and Logan Lyons each doubled and drove in a pair of runs to lead Rochester (5-5, 4-5) to a Section 2-A win. Elliott Szalla and Owen Pakulski each knocked in a run for St. Joseph (2-8, 2-7).
Seton LaSalle 13, Washington 2 – Dominic Breisinger went 3 for 5 with a triple and six RBIs, Ryan Keer got the win and Nate Baxendell picked up a save as Seton LaSalle (6-6, 5-4) rolled Washington (3-10, 0-7) in Section 4-3A. Caleb Patton tripled and drove in a run for the Prexies.
Sewickley Academy 12, Hillel Academy 2 – Billy Piertragallo singled, homered and drove in two runs to lead the way for Sewickley Academy (2-9, 1-4) in a nonsection win. Nolan Donnelly and Charlie Scally each ahd two hits and two RBIs for the Panthers.
Shady Side Academy 7, Steel Valley 4 – David Dillon tripled and drove in a run and Soren Cooper earned the win as Shady Side Academy (3-11, 2-5) beat Steel Valley (5-7, 2-5) in Section 2-3A. Immanuel Owens tripled and knocked in a run for the Ironmen.
South Park 3, South Allegheny 1 – Cooper Hochendoner gave up one run on five hits with 10 strikeouts in a complete-game win for South Park (10-2, 7-0). Ryan Spitznagel went 2 for 3 and Bryce Berzansky and Andrew Mittleider drove in a run apiece for the Eagles. Mason Campano hit a double for South Allegheny (4-8, 3-4).
Thomas Jefferson 6, Gateway 1 – Justin Fry went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and winning pitcher Tyler Lesko gave up one unearned run on five hits and struck out five as Thomas Jefferson (8-5, 6-1) defeated Gateway (6-8, 2-5) in Section 4-5A. Cameron Gottshalk drove in the only run for the Gators.
Trinity 10, South Fayette 3 – Jonah Williamson doubled and drove in two runs while Kaden Hathaway, Matthew Robaugh and Karson Hathaway each brought home a run as Trinity (6-5, 3-4) defeated South Fayette (8-5, 5-4) in Section 2-5A. Anthony Diodata, Cody Bungert and Colt Cloherty each had an RBI for the Lions. J.R. Rieg gave up three runs on three hits and fanned seven in seven innings to pick up a win for the Hillers.
Union 8, Aquinas Academy 1 – Swayzee Reighert doubled and knocked in two runs, Chris Staph also had two RBIs and Cole Harper plated a run as Union (4-7, 4-5) beat Aquinas Academy (2-8, 2-7) in Section 2-A. Luke Crawford drove in the only run for the Crusaders. Winning pitcher Logan Staph gave up one run on four hits and struck out five in seven innings for the Scotties.
Upper St. Clair 3, Peters Township 1 – Brayden Wells gave up two hits in a complete-game win and Josh Burlingame singled and homered for Upper St. Clair (8-5, 4-4) in a Section 2-5A win. Cooper Stutzman doubled and drove in a run for the Panthers. Hard-luck losing pitcher Zachary Miner allowed five hits in six innings for Peters Township (9-6, 4-4).
Valley 3, Highlands 2 – Nikolas Heakins, Conrad Hoover and Alexander Vagnier each plated a run as Valley (6-8, 1-6) defeated Highlands (6-6, 2-5) in Section 3-4A. Sal Barbarino drove in a pair of runs for the Golden Rams. Dom Dunkel picked up the win for the Vikings.
Waynesburg 12, McGuffey 1 – Jake Stephenson went 2 for 3 with a double, home run and three RBIs, Alex VanSickle had a double, triple and two RBIs and Derek Turcheck tripled and drove in two runs to lead Waynesburg (11-0, 7-0) in a Section 4-3A win. Austin Johnson and Sam Stout singled for McGuffey (7-5, 4-3).
West Allegheny 11, New Castle 5 – Brandon Boyce tripled and knocked in three runs, Brock Cornell and Logan Lambert drove in a pair apiece and winning pitcher Mason Gass struck out 10 as West Allegheny (3-7, 1-4) beat New Castle (4-10, 1-4) in Section 3-5A. Justin Girman went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs for the Hurricanes.
West Mifflin 11, Laurel Highlands 3 – Jayvon Thompson drove in a pair of runs, Eli Kurta and Caden Wills each knocked in a run and Jake Martina picked up a win as West Mifflin (12-3, 7-0) thumped Laurel Highlands (1-9, 0-7) in Section 2-4A. Sevi Vecchiolla homered and finished with three RBIs for the Mustangs.
Boys volleyball
Derry 3, McKeesport 0 – Jaiden Beeman delivered 12 kills, Duke Klapchar and Caden Marsh added five kills each, Cody Williams recorded 20 digs and John Kerin handed out 26 assists to lead Derry to a Section 1-2A win.
Shaler 3, Armstrong 1 – Nate Myers had 15 kills, Aiden Smith dished out 25 assists, Justin Truong had 30 digs and Richard O’Brien collected six blocks to lead Shaler to a nonsection win.
Girls lacrosse
Canon-McMillan 13, University 9 – Bella Urso scored four goals and Haylee Phenneger and Abby Neugebauer added three goals each to lead Canon-McMillan to a nonsection win.
