High school roundup for April 25, 2025: Brady Hull collects 6 RBIs in Eden Christian win

Brady Hull went 4 for 4 with a pair of doubles and six RBIs to lead Class A No. 2 Eden Christian to a 13-3 victory over Quaker Valley in nonsection baseball Friday.
Brett Feldman was 4 for 5 with an RBI and Noah Emswiler earned the win for the Warriors (12-2). Oscar Roig drove in a run for the Quakers (8-6).
Apollo-Ridge 17, Springdale 0 – Brayden McCracken doubled and drove in four runs and Noah Stewart was 4 for 4 with four RBIs in a Section 3-2A win for Apollo-Ridge (5-6, 5-5). Austin Gregory doubled and plated two runs and winning pitcher Brody Henderson gave up one hit and struck out five in five shutout innings for the Vikings. Colby Muller had the only hit for Springdale (2-9, 1-7).
Avonworth 7, DuBois 6 – Jack Dolan went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs, Case Latore hit a home run and Cooper Scharding doubled to lead Avonworth (14-2) to a nonsection win. Noah Farrell drove in two runs for DuBois.
Brashear 15, Aliquippa 0 – Winning pitcher Chris Tomassi allowed one hit and struck out six in three shutout innings and was 2 for 3 at the plate with a triple and double to lead Brashear (2-4) to a nonsection win over Aliquippa (0-10). Ryan White, True Crawford, Kaden Jones and Michael Caskey each drove in two runs for the Bulls.
Butler 5, Central Catholic 2 – Nash Cuffman doubled and drove in a run, Regan Peth doubled and Aaron Lunn got the win as Butler (10-4, 6-3) bested Central Catholic (4-10, 2-10) in Section 1-6A. Chase Gelpi hit a solo home run and Landon Green homered and drove in a run for the Vikings.
Carmichaels 10, Uniontown 0 – Nathan Dursa drove in three runs while Dillon Fisher, Jordan Davis, Robbie Wilson-Jones and Ryder Kreig each had an RBI as Carmichaels (8-4) shut out Uniontown (2-10) in nonsection play. Lucas Payton collected two hits for the Red Raiders. Winning pitcher Jase Zdravecky gave up two hits and struck out three for the Mighty Mikes.
Deer Lakes 4, Shady Side Academy 1 – Anthony Smith homered and drove in three runs, Lucas DeRose doubled and knocked in a run and Nolan Danka picked up the win for Deer Lakes (6-5) in a nonsection victory. Ty McCaskey clubbed two doubles for Shady Side Academy (4-12).
Fox Chapel 10, Gateway 3 – Antonio LeDonne had three hits and three RBIs and Franco Pistella and Tristan Blum combined on a one-hitter, racking up a total of 16 strikeouts, to lead Fox Chapel (11-3) to a nonsection win. Everett Clanton homered and Nick Seifried doubled and drove in two runs for the Foxes. Jayden Lewis doubled and knocked in a run for Gateway (6-10).
Freeport 16, East Allegheny 1 – Michael Hanz went 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple and five RBIs and Kason Barker homered and drove in three to lead Freeport (8-6) in a nonsection win against East Allegheny (0-13). Cameron Zigo doubled and knocked in three runs, Gavin Tola and Luke Whitfield each doubled and plated two runs and Luke Logsdon got the win for the Yellowjackets.
Latrobe 12, Williamsburg 3 – Hayden Porterfield wnet 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs and winning pitcher Mason Leonard knocked in three runs to propel Latrobe (11-4) over Williamsburg in nonsection play. Cooper Basciano was 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs and Eli Boring plated a run for the Wildcats.
Montour 9, Central Valley 0 – Winning pitcher Tyler Puffer gave up one hit and struck out five in two innings while Gavin Foley drove in two runs and Matteo Weber was 2 for 2 with an RBI for Montour (9-5) in a nonsection win over Central Valley (7-8). Cyprian Slifkey started for the Spartans and went three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and fanning three.
Mt. Pleasant 8, Belle Vernon 7 – Dane Firmstone and winning pitcher Levi Hixson each finished with two RBIs and Carter Strayer went 3 for 4 as Mt. Pleasant (11-4) defeated Belle Vernon (9-3) in nonsection play. Cole Matusik and Connor Bergman each drove in two runs for the Leopards. Cole Chatfield picked up a save for the Vikings.
Ringgold 10, California 9 – Kennedy Nash scored the game-winning run on a passed ball in the bottom of the seventh for Ringgold (7-8) in a nonsection win. Eli Carpenter had a double and two RBIs and Caden Monticelli drove in three runs for California (5-7). Tyler Fisher hit a two-run single and Gavin Angotti drove in a run for the Rams.
Shenango 6, Mohawk 5 – Christian Anterock drove in three runs and winning pitcher Trey Ross doubled and brought home two as Shenango (10-3) beat Mohawk (7-6) in nonsection play. Kam O’Lare knocked in a pair of runs and Vinny Pezzuolo went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Warriors.
Thomas Jefferson 9, Trinity 2 – Carter Kirsch went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs, Noah Kaszer had two doubles and three RBIs and Andrew Brnusak and Justin Fry hit a double apiece to lead Thomas Jefferson (10-4) to a nonsection win. Matthew Robaugh hit two doubles for Trinity (7-6).
West Allegheny 15, Chartiers Valley 0 – Daniel Sorenson and Zac Lucas each doubled and knocked in two runs and Teagan Tomei finished with two RBIs as well to power West Allegheny (5-7) to a nonsection win over Chartiers Valley (6-9). Donovan O’Connor got the win for the Indians.
Softball
Armstrong 15, Gateway 0 – Calise Czekanski and Maddie Sturgeon hit a home run apiece and Sydney Krukar doubled and drove in two runs to lead Armstrong (11-5, 7-4) to a Section 2-5A win over Gateway (3-11, 0-11). Winning pitcher Rachel Ban threw a three-inning no-hitter and struck out six for the River Hawks.
Blackhawk 10, Ambridge 0 – Kylie Prisuta struck out 10 and allowed three hits in six innings for Blackhawk (8-3, 6-2) in a Section 3-4A win over Ambridge (2-10, 0-9). Addy Ramer and Lila Grimm had a double and two RBIs apiece for the Cougars.
Burgettstown 18, Carlynton 1 – Layla Sheman hit three home runs and drove in seven and Raya Sentipal had a double and four RBIs to lead Burgettstown (7-7, 4-4) to a Section 3-2A win. Danica DeCecco hit a double for Carlynton (4-10, 2-6).
Canon-McMillan 6, Butler 0 – Winning pitcher Brooke Bumer struck out 14 and allowed no runs on three hits for Canon-McMillan (9-7, 7-6) in a Section 1-6A win over Butler (2-14, 2-11). Aurora Shirdon hit a double for the Big Macs.
Connellsville 5, Trinity 3 – Kaylee Roadman went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs and Cali Leichliter hit a home run to lead Connellsville (10-3, 6-3) to a Section 4-5A win. Ally Krenzelak went 3 for 3 with two triples and Hanna Suhoski doubled for Trinity (9-7, 7-3).
Freedom 29, Aliquippa 11 – MacKenzie Mohrbacher went 3 for 3 with a double, home run and four RBIs, Hayden Baucan had two doubles, a home run and four RBIs and Juliana Giovengo hit two doubles and drove in four runs to lead Freedom (1-12, 1-9) to a Section 1-2A win. Khloe Bible hit a double and Faith Riley drove in two runs for Aliquippa (0-11, 0-11).
Highlands 20, Valley 0 – Madison Gorney threw a five-inning no-hitter and struck out 11 for Highlands (7-6, 5-4) in a Section 1-4A win over Valley (0-13, 0-9). Gorney hit two doubles and drove in two runs and Gabby Chambers had two doubles, a home run and six RBIs for the Rams.
Mohawk 16, Hopewell 5 – Ashlee Masters had a double, home run and four RBIs, Alivia Hare hit two triples and Reagan Magno hit two doubles for Mohawk (12-2, 9-0) in a Section 2-3A win. Victoria Mann had a double, two home runs and four RBIs for Hopewell (2-9, 1-8).
Monessen 15, St. Joseph 0 – Joey Hurst threw a three-inning no-hitter for Monessen (4-8, 4-6) in a Section 3-A win over St. Joseph (0-2, 0-1). Hurst doubled and drove in three runs and Grace Clingenpeel went 2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs for the Greyhounds.
Neshannock 11, Shenango 1 – Miley Anderson went 4 for 4 with two doubles, a triple and four RBIs, Addy Frye doubled and Payton Newman had a home run and three RBIs to lead Neshannock (13-0, 10-0) to a Section 1-2A win. Emma Herb hit a double and drove in a run for Shenango (7-7, 6-4).
New Castle 9, Fox Chapel 8 – Zoe Shields had two singles, a double and three RBIs and Keara Mangieri doubled for New Castle (8-7, 5-4) in a Section 1-5A win. Jillian Haigh hit a double and triple and Brianna Hnatow tripled for Fox Chapel (9-6, 5-6).
North Allegheny 12, Pine-Richland 10 – Alison Friend and Sammy Plotsko hit a double and home run apiece and McKenna Rowlands hit two doubles to lead North Allegheny (9-7, 8-5) to a Section 1-6A win. Abbey Laurent hit a double and home run and Abigail Skripac, Calle Henne, Maddy Myers and Sydney Bezila homered for Pine-Richland (11-5, 8-5).
Plum 13, Penn Hills 0 – Mackenzie Marotta threw a five-inning one-hitter and struck out nine for Plum (11-4, 7-3) in a Section 1-5A win. Jaiden Gentile hit a triple and home run and Sydney Pici homered for the Mustangs. Brianna Marazas hit a double for Penn Hills (2-14, 0-11).
Thomas Jefferson 7, Peters Township 1 – Madden Stanek had a double, home run and three RBIs and Allie Chalovich drove in three runs to lead Thomas Jefferson (8-5, 6-2) past Peters Township (3-11, 1-9) in a Section 4-5A win. Winning pitcher Aubrey Shaffer struck out nine and allowed two hits for the Jaguars.
Waynesburg 8, California 0 – Aidan Snider went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs and Kolbi Rastoka and Avery Davis drove in a run apiece for Waynesburg (9-4, 6-1) in a Section 4-2A win. Madyson Morton hit a double for California (2-7, 0-5). Winning pitcher Gina Tedrow struck out 11 and allowed three hits in five innings for the Raiders.
West Allegheny 9, South Fayette 2 – Ava Henke went 3 for 4 with a double, two home runs and four RBIs, Savanna Benish hit two doubles and Alexis Santucci tripled and drove in two runs to lead West Allegheny (10-4, 6-1) to a Section 3-5A win. Maddie Cavenaugh hit a double and triple and Evie Vuono tripled for South Fayette (10-5, 5-3).

Indiana 11, North Catholic 4 – Garrett Goodrich had a hat trick and Parker Bowersox, Payne McClure and Jacob Wood added two goals apiece for Indiana (7-5, 5-2) in a Section 2-2A win over North Catholic (2-7, 2-5).
Girls lacrosse
Pine-Richland 16, Peters Township 9 – Mallory Boivin had five goals and two assists to lead Pine-Richland to a nonsection win. Cate Gentille and Mada Mill each added four goals, Addie Robb scored twice and Kendyll Jerry and Claire Mill collected two assists apiece.
