High school roundup for Dec. 28, 2025: Clutch 3-pointer boosts Blackhawk past Upper St. Clair

Grace Huston’s 3-pointer with 12 seconds left lifted Trib HSSN Class 4A No. 1 Blackhawk to a 46-43 girls basketball victory over Class 6A No. 5 Upper St. Clair at the Cal (Pa.) tournament Sunday.

Aubree Hupp led the Cougars (9-0) with 22 points, and Mia Sheesley added 10. Kat Polstyanko had 11 points for Upper St. Clair (3-4).

Allderdice 66, Brownsville 18 — At the Cal (Pa.) tournament, Bailey White had 30 points, Rhyan Sledge scored 13 and Seena Teshome added 11 as Allderdice (6-2) cruised past Brownsville (2-7).

Bethel Park 39, Belle Vernon 36 — Kat Boff had 12 points to help Bethel Park (5-2) beat Belle Vernon (6-2) at the Cal (Pa.) tournament. Isis Almyty had 11 points, and Aubrey Brown scored 10 for Belle Vernon.

Bishop Guilfoyle 51, Thomas Jefferson 37 — Morgan Ruggery had 15 points to pace Bishop Guilfoyle (6-0) past Thomas Jefferson (8-1) at the Holiday Bash at North Allegheny. Riley McCabe had 10 points for TJ.

Canon-McMillan 45, Franklin Regional 25 — Brooke Stanton scored 12 points to lead Canon-McMillan (9-1) past Franklin Regional (3-6) at the Cal (Pa.) tournament.

Jefferson-Morgan 45, Carmichaels 30 — Ava Wood had 19 points, and Brelynn Wood added 16 as Jefferson-Morgan (4-4) won in the consolation game of the Carmichaels tournament. Ke’lani Chun had 19 points for Carmichaels (1-8).

Waynesburg Central 52, Uniontown 37 — Tess Pauley had 15 points, Peyton Cowell added 12, and Emma Blair scored 10 as Waynesburg Central (8-1) won the Carmichaels tournament championship. Aierra Jenkins had 16 points to lead Uniontown (6-2).

Boys basketball

Allderdice 50, North Allegheny 48 — At the Holiday Bash at North Allegheny, Anthony Abrahams had 17 points, including four 3-pointers, to guide Allderdice (5-4) to victory. Keenu Brooks added 10 for the Dragons. Blake Craft had 15 points, and Will Robertson scored 11 for the host Tigers (6-4).

Carmichaels 59, Mapletown 15 — Stephen Lewis (12 points), Scott Maskill (11) and Chase Ankrom (10) scored in double figures for Carmichaels (2-6), which won in the consolation game of its host tournament. Charlie Hegedis had 10 points for Mapletown (0-10).

Jefferson-Morgan 59, Beth-Center 31 — Dayten Marion scored 24 points, Jeremiah Robertson added 16 and Brayden Ellsworth chipped in 10 to lead Jefferson-Morgan (10-0) past Beth-Center (5-4) in the championship game of the Carmichaels tournament.

McDowell 77, Thomas Jefferson 69 — At the West Allegheny tournament, Zane Simons had 24 points as McDowell (7-2) gave Thomas Jefferson (9-1) its first loss of the season. Nicholas Trkija had 19 points, and Justin Fry added 18 for Thomas Jefferson. Baldwin defeated West Allegheny, 58-45, in the other tournament game.

Mt. Lebanon 63, Capital City (MO) 58 — Liam Sheely hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 27 points and Carter Gould scored 25 points, including 6 of 6 from the free-throw line in the final 90 seconds of the game, to lead Mt. Lebanon (7-2) at the Super 8 Classic in Jefferson City, Mo. Marcus Driver scored 22 for Capital City.

New Castle 77, Bishop Guilfoyle 53 — Kai Cox scored 26 points to lead New Castle (9-0) at the Holiday Bash at North Allegheny. Damian Harrison added 18 and Marino Graham had 16 for the Red Hurricanes.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 43, Mercyhurst Prep 33 — Lola Garner scored 16 points and Macie Trombetta added 11 to lead OLSH (7-3) to a win at the Cal (Pa.) tournament. Mari Nixon led Mercyhurst Prep with 10 points.

Sewickley Academy 58, Butler 27 — Freshman Eric Craciun scored 10 points and Sewickley Academy (8-0) jumped out to a 25-8 lead after one quarter at the Holiday Bash at Butler. Stainton Forbes led Butler (4-5) with eight points.
