High school roundup for Dec. 5, 2025: Peters Township earns tipoff win over Upper St. Clair

Bri Morreale and Jordyn Walsh scored 16 points apiece to lead Peters Township to a 59-51 girls basketball victory over Upper St. Clair at the Peters Township/Baldwin tipoff tournament Friday night.
Alina Sopko contributed 11 for Peters (1-1). Kat Polstyanko had a game-high 25 to lead Upper St. Clair (1-1).
Allderdice 65, Connellsville 47 – Bailey White scored a game-high 26 points while Seena Teshome had 17 to lead Allderdice (3-1) to a Laurel Highlands Tournament win. Saige Mickens had 23, and Macey Orndoff had 11 for Connellsville (2-1).
Aquinas Academy 45, California 29 – Katie Tarquinio scored 14 points and Tess Duer added 10 to lead Aquinas Academy (2-0) at the Crusaders’ tipoff tournament. Hayley Gibson scored nine points for California (0-2).
Baldwin 61, Pine-Richland 44 – Jules Ott scored 16 points, Lynsey Bernotas and Kelsey Meyer each had 10, and Baldwin (2-0) earned the Peters Township/Baldwin Tournament win. Catherine Gentile led Pine-Richland (0-2) with 15.
Beaver County Christian 31, Trinity Christian 25 – Ella Michalik scored 10 points to send Beaver County Christian to a win at Neighborhood Academy tournament. Savannah Terry scored 11 for Trinity Christian.
Bethel Park 51, Mars 28 – Fiona O’Neil scored 15 points and Naiya Turner added 10 to lead Bethel Park (1-0) at the tournament hosted by the Black Hawks. Alexis Cashdollar scored 14 points for Mars (1-1).
Brownsville 48, Bentworth 18 – Skyler Gates scored 27 points and Ava Clark added 11 for Brownsville (1-0) at the tournament hosted by the Falcons. Zoie McDonald scored eight points for Bentworth (0-1).
Butler 60, New Castle 19 – Eva Stutz scored 16 points and Malina McElroy added 13 to lead Butler (4-0) to a nonsection win over New Castle (0-4).
Canon-McMillan 49, Moon 39 – Lauren Borella led with 14 points and Brooke Stanton added 11 points to lead Canon-McMillan (3-0) to a win in the Moon tipoff tournament. Maria Depner led the Tigers (1-1) with 10 points.
Carlynton 33, East Allegheny 22 – Lucy Vetter scored 21 points and Carlee Hughes added 10 for Carlynton (1-0) at the tournament hosted by the Cougars. Ivy Barnett scored 14 points for East Allegheny (0-2).
Carrick 45, Freedom 28 – Alaysia Peacock scored 16 points, Jocelyn Fisher had 14 and Skye Hall added nine to lead Carrick (2-0) past Freedom (0-2) at the Brentwood tournament.
Charleroi 43, Derry 15 – Ava Henderson and Eden Smith scored 15 points apiece to lead Charleroi (2-1) to a Monessen tournament win. Kylee Metcalf scored five points for Derry (1-2).
Chartiers-Houston 46, Uniontown 41 – Ali Wingard scored 16 points, Ava Kolovich added 15 and Chartiers-Houston (3-0) rallied from five points down at halftime to win at Brownsville Falcon Fest. Lyric McLee scored 15 points and Aierra Jenkins added 13 for Uniontown (0-1).
Clairton 54, Frazier 36 – Karma Fuqua led with 28 points and Jamiya Brownfield followed with 19 for Clairton (1-0) in a nonsection win. Clea Bozek scored 12 points and Allie Yauch had 10 for Frazier (0-2).
Elizabeth Forward 46, Avonworth 39 – Kaelynn Settles had a team-high 19 points to lead Elizabeth Forward (1-1) to a Bethel Park Tournament win. Bria Onyshko led Avonworth (0-2) with nine.
Fort Cherry 47, Ellis School – Gianna Bianchini netted six 3-pointers en route to a game-high 20 points to lead Fort Cherry to a win in its tipoff tournament. Brooke Cornali added 10 points for the Rangers. Angelina Jones had 14 points to lead the Ellis School (1-1).
Franklin Regional 55, Hopewell 33 – Alyssa Bridges scored 14 points and Isabella Robertson followed with 12 to help Franklin Regional (1-1) to victory at the Moon tournament. Avery Boyd led Hopewell (1-2) with 18 points.
Greensburg Salem 59, Ringgold 18 – Mya Heasley scored 18 points to lead Greensburg Salem (1-0) past Ringgold (1-1) at the tournament hosted by the Golden Lions.
Indiana 53, St, Joseph’s Catholic Academy – Julia Antonacci (16) and Laken Kugler (15) combined for 31 points to power Indiana (4-0) to a win in the DuBois Central tournament. Addy Hutton had 11 and Samantha Martin added 10 for the Indians. Naomi Crispin had a game-high 23 points to lead St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy (2-2).
Kennedy Catholic 52, Knoch 40 – Tori Harvey scored 23 points and Bella Magestro added 14 for Kennedy Catholic (2-0) at the Slippery Rock tournament. Neah Ewing scored 15 points for Knoch (0-4).
Kiski Area 51, Freeport 46 – Gianna DeVito connected for 25 points and Jada Blanciak added 10 to lead Kiski Area (2-0) at the tournament hosted by the Yellowjackets. Nia DiSanti hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points for Freeport (1-1).
McKeesport 58, Woodland Hills 24 – Dannah Sebelia (18 points) was one of three double-digit scorers who powered McKeesport (3-1) to the nonsection win. Emily Eisenberg had 11 points while Sunny Harper chipped in 10 for the Tigers. Alaina Jackson-Carrington led Woodland Hills (0-2) with 11.
Neighborhood Academy 28, Propel Montour 17 – Star Carter scored seven points to lead Neighborhood Academy at the tournament hosted by the Bulldogs. Rinayah Mathis led Propel Montour with eight points.
Oak Glen 36, Mohawk 30 – Mikayla Balch scored 10 points to lead Oak Glen to a nonsection win. Addy Moskal scored 14 points for Mohawk (0-3).
Plum 53, Latrobe 33 – Led by 17 points from Tamia West, 16 from Riley Stephans and 10 from Tori Glogowski, Plum (1-1) won at the tournament hosted by the Mustangs. Sophia Drnjevich scored 15 and Maggie Maiers added 10 for Latrobe (0-1).
Shady Side Academy 52, South Park 35 – Cassie Sauer led a trio of double digit scorers with 18 to lead Shady Side Academy (4-0) to a nonsection win. Leah Buford and Karis Thomas each had 12 for the Bulldogs. Bella Stromberg scored 13 points for South Park (0-2).
St. Joseph 77, Steel Valley 11 – Bella Bartolovic scored 21 points to lead four players in double figures as St. Joseph (2-0) defeated Steel Valley (0-4) at the tournament hosted by the Spartans. Gemma Hornack and Peyton Hornack each added 13 and Kasey Cienik had 11 for St. Joseph.
West Allegheny 59, Lincoln Park 41 – Emma Ruperto scored 14 points to lead four players in double figures for West Allegheny (2-0) at the St. Joseph tournament. Breana Gubba added 11 and Ella Smith and Alexis Santucci each chipped in 10 for West A. Maddi Jannuzi led Lincoln Park (2-2) with 12 points.
West Greene 42, McGuffey 39 – Jillissa Yeater led with 17 points and Kendra Tharp added nine for West Greene (3-1) in a nonsection win. Maura Janovich scored nine points for McGuffey (2-2).
West Mifflin 62, Riverview 39 – Three players scored double digits for West Mifflin (2-2) led by Aryah Scott’s 19 in the Titans’ Aquinas Academy tournament win. Kendall Lee and Nerual Parms each had 15. Isabel Chaparro led Riverview (1-1) with 21 points while Blake Huffman had 10.
Winchester Thurston 57, Beaver 37 – Jasmine Hollins scored 19 points and Aleah Cooper followed with 17 as Winchester Thurston (3-1) defeated Beaver (1-2) at the Fort Cherry tournament.

Apollo-Ridge 58, Valley 51 – Zane Beatty scored 18 points and Noah Stewart added nine to help Apollo-Ridge (2-2) to a nonsection victory. Julian Danko scored 14 and Kane Wilson chipped in 10 for Valley (1-3).
Aquinas Academy 90, Propel Montour 64 – Sam Duer scored 23 points and Clayton Frissora and Jonah Burchill each added 19 to lead Aquinas Academy (2-0) at the tournament hosted by the Crusaders. Ty’Aire Hawkins scored 25 points and John Anderson added 17 for Propel Montour.
Avella 75, Mapletown 15 – Bryce Wright had 24 points, Brayden Fuller added 14 and Cameron Ullom finished with 12 as Avella (3-1) earned the nonsection win. Cotton Taylor had 11 for Mapletown (0-3).
Baldwin 83, Northgate 32 – Evan Golvash scored 18 points, Nico Macurac had 13 and Max Marzina added 12 for Baldwin (1-0) at the Peters Township/Baldwin tournament. Desmond Williams scored 21 points for Northgate (0-1).
Beaver 67, Blackhawk 59 – Logan Wieland had 19 points and Junior Marino added 18 to lead Beaver (2-1) to a nonsection win. Jake Peluso had 15 points while William Haller had 13 for the Bobcats. Marco Fusetti had 21 to lead Blackhawk (2-1).
Bentworth 45, Carmichaels 15 – Ryan Moessner scored 22 points and Ben Hays went for 16 as Bentworth earned the nonsection win.
Brentwood 51, Freedom 44 – X’havier Nunez scored 19 points and Deng Mu added 12 for Brentwood (1-0) at the tournament hosted by the Spartans. Chase Andrews scored 17 points for Freedom (1-1).
Carrick 57, Geibel Catholic 40 – Treshawn Beasley’s 17 points led Carrick (1-2) to a Brentwood Tournament win. Luzay Watson had 16 and Kejuan Johnson had 10 to round out the double-digit scorers for the Raiders. Anthony Nickischer was the top scorer for Geibel Catholic (1-1) with 11 points.
Cathedral Prep 92, Scranton Prep 86 – Michael Thompson scored 28 points and Nando Mirachi added 25 to power Cathedral Prep at the North Catholic tournament. Packy Doherty led Scranton Prep with 31.
Central Valley 62, Riverview 33 – Wyatt Clark scored 18 points, Adam Shroads finished with 13 and Angelo Conti contributed 10 for Central Valley (2-0) at the Rize Sports tournament in Leetsdale. Rex Roberts led Riverview (1-3) with 16 points.
Central Catholic 62, Mohawk 58 – Enzo Khalil poured in a game-high 24 points to lead Central Catholic (1-0) to a win in the Jack Twyman tournament at Oakland Catholic. Christian Williams added 11 for the Vikings. Bobby Fadden led Mohawk (0-1) with 23 points, while Drew Wrona and Joey Nail each had 16.
Chartiers Valley 78, Plum 32 – Luca Federico scored 26 points and Julius Best and Julian Semplice added 12 points apiece to lead Chartiers Valley (2-0) at the tournament hosted by the Colts. Bryce Nabozny scored nine points for Plum (0-2).
Connellsville 57, Greensburg Salem 55 – Jayden Mickens scored 15 points and Lucas Harwood and Rocco Farrell each had 13 as Connellsville (2-0) edged Greensburg Salem (1-2) in the Hempfield tipoff tournament. The Falcons made 17 of 18 free throws. Jackson Stevey had 16 points, Brody Burkholder added 15 and Ty Harkcom had 14 for the Golden Lions, who led 42-38 after three quarters.
Elizabeth Forward 66, Trinity 56 – Tyler Basic scored 36 points to lead Elizabeth Forward (2-2) to a nonsection win. Anthony Giorgi scored 25 points and Jonah Williamson had 13 for Trinity (1-2).
Fort Cherry 53, Union 42 – Connor Vansickle scored 20 points and Landon Trnavsky added 17 to lead Fort Cherry (1-0) past Union (0-4) at the tournament hosted by the Rangers.
Fox Chapel 45, Johnstown 43 – Grant Fenton scored 13 points and Carson Rihn added 12 to boost Fox Chapel (2-0) at the Chartiers Valley tournament. Amir Robinson scored 13 points and Tommy Ashcom had 10 for Johnstown.
Franklin Regional 62, South Fayette 48 – Alec Masten scored 18 points, Logan Walter had 17 and Anthony Mitchell added 10 for Franklin Regional (2-0) at the Mike Rettger tournament hosted by the Panthers. Tyson Wright scored 16 points and Owen Keener had 12 for South Fayette (0-2).
Highlands 70, Southmoreland 30 – Ty Hall hit four 3-pointers and finished with 22 points to lead Highlands (1-1) at the St. Joseph tournament. Brady Celko added 16 and Carmine Lacava had 12 for the Golden Rams. Noah Felentzer led Southmoreland (0-2) with 11 points.
Hopewell 58, Beaver Falls 35 – James “Booboo” Armstrong led with 19 points, Justin Shegog followed with 15 and Brody Rock added 14 for Hopewell (1-0) in a nonsection win. Cartier Williams scored 13 points for Beaver Falls (1-2).
Indiana 61, Greensburg Central Catholic 41 – Indiana (2-2) cruised past Greensburg Central Catholic (0-1) in the Hempfield tipoff tournament as Aaron Webb scored a game-high 20 points. Will Olsen added 16 points and Tai Allison had 13 for the Indians, who took a 28-17 lead into halftime. Carsen Kramer led GCC with 13.
Kiski Area 73, Bethel Park 41 – Devin Lindenfelser led with 19 points, Amaree Gonzalez followed with 17 and Angel Gonzalez added 13 for Kiski Area (1-0) at the Upper St. Clair tournament. Joe Parisi scored 14 points for Bethel Park (0-2).
Laurel Highlands 67, Yough 32 – Tyrone Burton led the way with 19 points for Laurel Highlands (2-1) at the Ligonier Valley tournament. Luke Martin added 13 and Kayden Smith had 11 for the Mustangs. Hayden Smith led Yough (0-3) with eight points.
Ligonier Valley 77, Marion Center 54 – Michael Wisniewski went off for 32 points to lead Ligonier Valley to a win in the tournament hosted by the Rams. Michael Vargullish-graver contributed 11 points for the Rams.
Mercyhurst Prep 55, Neshannock 51 – Jake DiBello-Millimaci scored 14 points while Ryan Harris added 11 to lead Mercyhurst Prep (1-0) to the nonsection win. David Kwiat (19) and Luca Pagley (17) combined for 36 points for Neshannock (1-1).
McGuffey 49, West Greene 42 – Wyatt Frazee scored 18 points for McGuffey (2-2) in a nonsection win. Will Shipman scored 14 points for West Greene (0-2).
Mt. Lebanon 63, Allderdice 48 – Liam Sheely scored 22 points, Ryan Kokot had 13 and Jacob Zaber added 11 for Mt. Lebanon (1-0) at the North Hills tournament. Keith Taylor and Keenu Brooks scored 12 points apiece for Allderdice (2-1).
Neighborhood Academy 81, Trinity Christian 18 – Julius Page scored 21 points, D’Andre Green had 14 and Trey McMurray added 12 for Neighborhood Academy (2-0) at the tournament hosted by the Bulldogs. Graham Hughes scored 16 for Trinity Christian.
North Catholic 74, St. Mary’s Annapolis 64 – Jude Rottmann had 21 points, Jason Fredericks had 19, including five 3-pointers and Brandon Pickett had 11 as North Catholic (1-0) got the win in the tournament hosted by the Trojans. Jovanni Hall (18) and Gavin Johnson (14) combined for 32 for St. Mary’s Annapolis (3-4).
North Hills 70, Hampton 45 – Nathan Schanbacher led with 26 points and Jackson Long followed with 24 for North Hills (1-0) at the tournament hosted by the Indians. Jonas Cuppas scored 19 points and made five 3-pointers for Hampton (1-1).
Norwin 66, Pine-Richland 64 – Chris McKnight hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds left to lead Norwin (2-1) past Pine-Richland (0-1) at the Mike Rettger tournament at Franklin Regional.
OLSH 56, Albert Gallatin 21 – Jake Johnson scored 19 points and Nolan Reed contributed 14 to pace OLSH (2-0) at Brownsville Falcon Fest. Darrin Ford led Albert Gallatin (1-1) with eight points.
Peters Township 68, Avonworth 41 – Dylan Donovan scored 18 points, Jayden Greco had 12 and Lucas Saxe added 10 for Peters Township (2-0) at the Baldwin/Peters Township tournament. Will Shields scored 14 points and Charlie Igims had 10 for Avonworth (0-2).
Propel Andrew Street 42, Beaver County Christian 31 – Malik Jeter hit for 21 points and Jaden Powell helped out with 10 as Propel Andrew Street won at the Neighborhood Academy tournament. Ben Crefeld led Beaver County Christian with 17 points.
Riverside 50, Western Beaver 19 – Cole Becker had a team-high 12 points to lead Riverside (3-0) to a nonsection win.
Seneca Valley 54, Montour 44 – Andrew Omasits had a game-high 18 points while Ryan Priester (11) and Owen Congdon (10) combined for 21 to guide Seneca Valley (1-0) to the nonsection win. Brandon Bennett had 15 points to lead Montour (0-2)
Serra Catholic 66, Leechburg 34 – Kris Sharp led with 20 points, Brayden Graham followed with 16 and Sean Walker added 13 for Serra Catholic (2-2) in a nonsection win. Mason Scitticat scored 15 points for Leechburg (0-4).
Seton LaSalle 74, Sto-Rox 47 – Jaleel Wright scored 13 points and Noah Koupiaris and Will Martin added 11 points apiece to lead Seton LaSalle (4-0) to a nonsection win over Sto-Rox (0-1).
Sewickley Academy 82, Nazareth Prep 23 – Lucas Grimsley scored 12 points and Adam Ikamba added 11 as Sewickley Academy (1-0) won at the Rize Sports tournament in Leetsdale. Ahsan Harrison led Nazareth prep (0-3) with 17 points.
South Park 71, Cheswick Christian Academy 29 – Luke Scarff hit for 23 points, Cooper Hochendoner added 12 and Dawson Battista kicked in 12 to help South Park (1-0) to a win at the Aquinas Academy tournament. Brady Rochkind led Cheswick Christian (1-1) with 19 points.
South Side 92, Burgettstown 57 – Andrew Corfield erupted for 46 points to lead South Side (3-1) to a nonsection win. Logan Leatherman contributed 15 points and Dawson Frasier had 12 for the Rams. Dom Stevenson led Burgettstown (0-2) with 14 points while Blake Neal had 13 and Caleb Matalik had 10.
Washington 56, Waynesburg 53 (OT) – Tristan Reed’s 17 points led a trio of Prexies in double figures for Washington (2-2). Vincent Johnson had 15 points while Teyvonne France had 13. Cole Headlee scored 19 points and Jackson Dean had 16 to lead Waynesburg (1-1).
West Allegheny 50, Grove City 47 – Josiah Johnson scored 25 points to lead West Allegheny (3-0) at the McDowell tournament. Kingston Henke added 11 and Donovan O’Connor had 10 for West A. Ben Fischer led Grove City with 18 points.
Winchester Thurston 44, Monessen 32 – Michael Hammerling scored 22 points to lead Winchester Thurston (2-1) past Monessen (0-1) at the Fort Cherry tournament.
