Maggie Spell led scored 23 points as Thomas Jefferson stayed undefeated in the early season with a 69-56 girls basketball nonsection victory over Elizabeth Forward on Monday night.
Emma Altavilla followed with 15 points, Emily Hritz had 14 and Allie Wilson added 11 for the Jagurs (4-0). Mia Sostaric scored 23 points for the Warriors (2-2).
Baldwin 42, South Park 31 – Julianne Ott scored 12 points for Baldwin (3-1) in a nonsection win. Hayley Bennett and Nika Contakos scored nine points apiece for South Park (0-3).
Belle Vernon 58, Connellsville 41 – Lyla McConnell scored 20 points, Aubrey Brown had 13 and Saylor Lee added 12 to lead Belle Vernon (3-1) to a nonsection win. Saige Mickens and Macey Orndorff scored 13 points apiece and Maggie Orndorff had 11 for Connellsville (2-2).
Burrell 56, Mt. Pleasant 33 – Casey Brancato scored 20 points and Chase Coury added 15 to lead Burrell (4-1) to a nonsection win. Ryleigh Drzal led Mt. Pleasant (2-2) with 10 points.
Canon-McMillan 44, Bethel Park 29 – Izabella Bobitski and Sam Miller scored 12 points apiece and Brooke Stanton added 10 to lead Canon-McMillan (5-0) to a nonsection win. Kat Boff scored 11 points for Bethel Park (1-1).
Carrick 39, Bentworth 24 – Jocelyn Fisher scored 12 points for Carrick (4-0) in its nonsection win. Bella Moyer had 10 for Bentworth (0-3)
Geibel Catholic 72, Derry 24 – Emma Larkin and Mallory Clemmer scored 25 points each to power Geibel Catholic (5-0) to a nonsection win. Janiah Darnell added 13 points for the Gators. Trinity Miller led Derry (1-4) with eight points.
Hampton 36, Armstrong 27 – Katie Christy scored 14 points to lead Hampton (4-0) to a nonsection win. Sophia Schumaker scored six points for Armstrong (3-2).
Mars 41, Knoch 17 – Alexis Cashdollar connected for 14 points to send Mars (2-2) to a nonsection win. Neah Ewing led Knoch (0-6) with eight points.
Mohawk 35, Shenango 31 – Addy Moskal led Mohawk (1-3) to its first win with 15 points. Addy Vanasco scored 10 points for Shenango (2-3).
Montour 64, Central Valley 31 – Claire Bannon scored 16 points while Siena Palmer, Zoe Woessner and Tiffany Miller each had 10 to lead Montour (4-0) to a nonsection win. Emma Brown had a game-high 18 points for Central Valley (0-2).
North Catholic 50, Gateway 15 – Harmony Jones scored 13 points and Brady Wehner added 12 to lead North Catholic (2-0) to a nonsection win. Nyerra Reid scored seven points for Gateway (2-1).
OLSH 50, Serra Catholic 39 – Rowan Winter scored 16 points and Lola Garner added 14 for OLSH (3-0) in a nonsection win. Bella Dumbrosky scored 15 points for Serra Catholic (0-2).
Peters Township 72, North Allegheny 47 – Bri Morreale led with 23 points and made five 3-pointers and Taylor McCullough added 18 for Peters Township (3-1) in a nonsection win. Vange Balouris scored 21 points for North Allegheny (0-3).
Riverside 50, Sewickley Academy 46 – Emma Meyer went off for 24 points with three 3-pointers to lead Riverside (3-1) to a nonsection win. Emma Stockman had a 11-point, 14-rebound double-double for the Vikings. Nina Caputo had 13 points, while Emma Eannarino had 10 for Sewickley Academy (1-3).
Rochester 61, Obama 42 – Tia Yellock (18) and Kamryn Newman (16) combined for 34 points as Rochester (2-2) earned the nonsection win. Nia Benjamin had 16 while Ari Treudwell had 11 for Obama (0-3).
Seton LaSalle 78, West Mifflin 71 (2OT) – Four players reached double figures for Seton LaSalle (2-1), led by Ava Maroney’s 21 points. Casey Davis had 17, Addy Dears scored 16 and Natalie Pascarella contributed 10 in the double overtime win. Aryah Scott led West Mifflin (2-3) with 27 while Kendal Lee (15), Nerual Parms (15) and Modest Brown (14) combined for 44 for the Titans.
South Fayette 70, Mt. Lebanon 36 – Juliette Leroux had 22, Haylie Lamonde had 16, Lailah Wright had 12 and South Fayette (4-0) cruised the nonsection win. Emily Smith scored 16 for Mt. Lebanon (1-3).
Southmoreland 49, Ligonier Valley 26 – Ashley Seder scored 13 points and Ava Keefer and Breonna Zaffina added eight points apiece to lead Southmoreland (1-2) past Ligonier Valley (1-2) in a nonsection win.
Sto-Rox 55, Springdale 15 – Arianna Johnston scored 16 points and Brooklyn Sykes added 15 for Sto-Rox (2-2) in a nonsection victory. Cara Leahy led Springdale (0-4) with five points.
Trinity 57, Fort Cherry 24 – Three players scored in double digits for Trinity (4-0) with Kimari Behrens’ 16 leading the way. Sutton Williamson had 15 and Vitt Emerich had 10 for the Hillers. Allison Litman had 12 for Fort Cherry (1-3).
Union 46, Ellwood City 10 – Maddie Settle hit three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points and Miera Gunn added 10 points to help Union (4-1) to a nonsection win over Ellwood City (0-4).
Uniontown 60, Beth-Center 29 – Aierra Jenkins netted seven threes en route to 29 points to lead Uniontown (2-1) to a nonsection win. Ambree Long had 13 points while Charley Murtha had 11 for the Red Raiders.
Upper St. Clair 40, North Hills 37 – Caroline Barnard scored 18 points on six 3-pointers for Upper St. Clair (2-2) in a nonsection win. Zoe Devlin scored 14 points for North Hills (1-3).
Waynesburg 64, Carmichaels 9 – Tess Pauley led with 22 points, Peyton Cowell followed with 16 and Emma Blair added 11 for Waynesburg (3-0) in a nonsection win over Carmichaels (1-3).
West Greene 55, California 35 – Kendra Tharp scored 22 points as West Greene (4-1) earned the nonsection win. Lila Mitchell had 10 to lead California (0-4).
Yough 48, Highlands 18 – Evelyn Gates and Daisy Miller scored 10 apiece to lead Yough (4-1) to a nonsection win.

Apollo-Ridge 66, Homer Center 40 – Zane Beayty scored 12 points for Apollo-Ridge (3-2) in a nonsection win against Homer Center. Brayden Myers, Logen Schrock and Breydon Orvosh scored nine points apiece for the Vikings.
Armstrong 65, Perry Traditional Academy 41 – Carter Schotting had 23 points to lead Armstrong (3-1) to a nonsection win. Jayden Oliver and Garrett Brumbaugh each had 10 for the River Hawks. Landen Boykin had 14 for Perry (0-4).
Bentworth 45, Beth-Center 43 – Ben Hays had a game-high 20 points and Ryan Moessner had 15 to lead Bentworth (2-0) to a nonsection win over Beth-Center (1-1).
Butler 69, Bishop Canevin 53 – Stainton Forbes (25) and Andrew Gettinger (23) went for a combined 48 points to lead Butler (2-1) past Bishop Canevin (2-1) in nonsection play.
Canon-McMillan 70, Bethel Park 60 – Roman Koenemund scored 21 points and Keegan Williams added 13 to lead Canon-McMillan (3-1) to a nonsection win. Joe Parisi scored 18 points and Mike Bruckner had 14 for Bethel Park (0-4).
Carlynton 55, Rochester 34 – Ishaga Barre scored 21 points, Mikey Jenkins had 12 and Carlynton (2-1) got the nonsection win. Bobby George had 10 for Rochester (0-4).
Hopewell 71, Ellwood City 57 – Three players recorded double-digit points for Hopewell (1-1), led by James “Booboo” Armstrong’s 24. Brody Rock had 14 and Justin Shegog had 12 for the Vikings. Aaron Lake led Ellwood City (3-2) with 14 while Kaleb Servick (13), Maykel Cuevas (12) and Tyler Smiley (11) combined for 36.
Keystone Oaks 52, Chartiers-Houston 32 – Erond Jakupi led Keystone Oaks (4-0) with 32 points in a nonsection win. Aaron Walsh and Ethan Farnham scored nine points apiece for Chartiers-Houston (1-2).
Mt. Pleasant 62, Yough 46 – Gage Valone scored 24 points and made six 3-pointers for Mt. Pleasant (2-2) in a nonsection win. Tyler Smith scored 13 points and Hayden Smith had 11 for Yough (0-5).
New Brighton 80, Western Beaver 69 – Nate Schwarz’s 41 points with seven 3-pointers wasn’t enough for Western Beaver (0-4) as Joey Kennedy (35) and Dash Graham (25) combined for 60 points to lead New Brighton (2-1) to the nonsection win. Carter Marshall had 13 for the Golden Beavers, while Carter Jackson had 16 for the Lions.
Seneca Valley 62, Peters Township 46 – Andrew Omasits had a game-high 23 with four 3-pointers to lead Seneca Valley (2-0) to a nonsection win. Ryan Priester had 18 for the Raiders. Dylan Donovan had 21 for Peters Township (3-1) while Jake Wetzel chipped in 15.
Springdale 56, St. Joseph 43 – Robby Simmen scored 19 points and Liam Dexter added 17 to lead Springdale (1-2) to a nonsection win. Ryan McCarthy scored 18 points and Kyle Lecker had 12 for St. Joseph (1-2).
Waynesburg 68, Steel Valley 55 – Cole Headlee scored 26 points, Austin Surber had 18 and Dane Woods added 16 to lead Waynesburg (2-1) to a nonsection win. Connor Fitzgerald scored 16 points and Ryan Stoker had 12 for Steel Valley (0-5).

Greensburg Salem 47, New Castle 21 – Chase Lenhart (121), Gabriel Doppelhauer (160), Elijah Miller (172), Deacon Grant (215) and David Peters (285) recorded pins and Noah Somerville (145) won by tech fall in a nonsection win for Greensburg Salem (1-1). Delano Williams took a decision for New Castle (0-1).
Hockey
Blackhawk 5, Quaker Valley 4 (SO) – Grant Shroads and Tyler Syka each had a goal and an assist, Finn Conlon and Bryce Leiper also scored and Matt Hofer made 41 saves for Blackhawk (7-2) in a Class A shootout victory. Ben McHenry scored twice, Max Modrovich and Jace Vasbinder also scored and Ian Lorang made 28 saves for Quaker Valley (9-1-1).
Canon-McMillan 3, North Catholic 2 (SO) – Eli Pruss and Michael Traynor scored and Aiden Bobbs made 23 saves to lead Canon-McMillan (9-0) to a Class A shootout win. Kevin Kilkeary scored the tying goal in the final minute of regulation and Miles Robinson also scored for North Catholic (5-4-1).
Fox Chapel 6, Mt. Lebanon 5 (OT) – Spencer Goehring scored the tying goal with 1:48 left in regulation and Cavan Patrick netted the overtime winner to lead Fox Chapel (5-7) to a Class 3A win. Tucker Cullen led Fox Chapel with two goals and three assists and Keita Komatsu added a goal and an assist. Williams White scored twice, Graham Resler had a goal and two assists and Sean Hough and Cameron Mayer each added a goal and an assist for Mt. Lebanon (2-5-2).
Hampton 4, Indiana 1 – Joseph Stephenson had a hat trick and Dillon Fogle had a goal and two assists for Hampton (5-4-1) in a Class A win. Michael Dubetsky scored for Indiana (4-6-1).
Mars 4, Butler 2 – Garrett Myers had two goals and an assist and Jack Weaver also scored twice to lead Mars (10-0-1) to a Class A win. Greyson Steadman and Aden Devore scored for Butler (8-2).
Meadville 3, Beaver 1 – Ryan Yunik had two goals and Graham Shellhaas had one for Meadville (4-7-2) in a Class A win. Sammy Mecchia had the lone goal for Beaver (3-7).
Morgantown 10, Deer Lakes 3 – Cooper Cox collected three goals and two assists to lead Morgantown (7-3-1) to a Division 2 win. Jaydin Eisenman scored twice and Mason Cervone had a goal and an assist for Deer Lakes (7-3).
North Allegheny 3, Central Catholic 0 – Anthony Lucas, Cole Maier and Cedric Otey scored and Drew Pompa made 20 saves to lead North Allegheny (6-2-3) to a Class 3A win over Central Catholic (6-3-2).
Penn-Trafford 7, Norwin 0 – Roman Catello and Liam Lehneke had two goals and an assist apiece for Penn-Trafford (10-1) in a Class 2A win over Norwin (2-8). Ben Zierski and Zach Grkman had a goal and two assists apiece and Sean Goodman had four assists for the Warriors.
Pine-Richland 7, South Fayette 0 – Cullen Campbell and Liam Voit had two goals and one assist apiece and Carson Verszyla added a goal and three assists to lead Pine-Richland (6-3-1) to a Class 3A win over South Fayette (5-7).
Plum 3, North Hills 1 – Max Keller, Tyler Bartos and AJ Leah scored to lead Plum (4-5) to a Class A win. Cole Hunt scored for North Hills (6-4-1).
Sewickley Academy 4, Central Valley 1 – David Merlo scored twice, Brooks Kraina and Mario Thomas also scored and Jack Carlson made 29 saves to help Sewickley Academy (2-8-1) to a Division 2 win. Caleb McQuaid scored for Central Valley (2-6-1).
Shaler 4, Latrobe 3 – Blake Whiteman IV, Matthew Stelitano and Chase Irwin scored unanswered third-period goals to lead Shaler (6-4-1) to a Class 2A win. Stelitano finished with two goals and an assist and Jackson Fox made 26 saves for Shaler. Caden Mikulsky, Landon Miney and Preston Miller scored for Latrobe (4-4-1).
Wheeling Catholic 6, South Park 4 – Conor Wood had a hat trick and Rowen Parker, Finn Tiu and Maddox Ochap added a goal apiece to lead Wheeling Catholic (1-7) to a Class A win. Josh Jackovic, Bo Baumiller, Tadgh Welsh and Thomas Bryan scored for South Park (1-8).
