High school roundup for Feb. 11, 2025: Peters Township rallies to knock off Mt. Lebanon

John Ripepi scored the game-winning goals with 3:22 left in the regulation to lift Peters Township to a 4-3 victory over first-place Mt. Lebanon in PIHL Class 3A hockey Tuesday night.

Blacke Evancic and Luca Maietta also scored in the third period as Peters Township (6-10-2) came back from 3-1 down. Troy Jones scored in the first period and Jack Fazio made 40 saves for Peters.

Liam Shinn scored twice and Ben Kurta also had a goal for Mt. Lebanon (14-2-2).

Hempfield 9, Bishop McCort 4 – JJ Williams scored a hat trick and Nino DiPietro had a goal and three assists to lead Hempfield (7-9-1) in Class 2A. Kenny Billings scored twice for Bishop McCort (7-10-1).

McDowell 3, Beaver 2 (OT) – Harrison Parra netted the overtime winner and Wendell Natividad and Ethan Murphy also scored to lead McDowell (7-12) to an overtime win in Class A. Danny Cogis and Evan Schmidt scored for Beaver (4-13-2).

Trinity 8, Central Valley 4 – Seamus Coyle racked up five goals and two assists and Jensen Phillips and Destin Porter each had a goal and an assist for Trinity (5-10-1) in Division 2. Luca Iannessa and Treyton Palocsik each recorded a goal and an assist for Central Valley (5-12).

Wheeling Central Catholic 9, Westmont Hilltop 5 – Aden Cooey had three goals and three assists and Logan Pielech added two goals and two assists to lead Wheeling Central Catholic (8-11-1) in Class A. Ethan Downey and Colby Carson each scored twice for Westmont Hilltop (1-17-1).
