High school roundup for Feb. 26, 2026: Hampton boys, Upper St. Clair, Chartiers-Houston girls take 3rd place

Gavin Guinn hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 25 points to lead 10th-seeded Hampton to a 61-59 overtime victory over No. 4 Moon in the WPIAL Class 5A boys basketball third-place game Thursday night.
Jonas Cupps added four 3-pointers and 16 points for the Talbots (16-8). Caleb Waclawski scored 18 and Brody Bauman had 11 for the Tigers (20-5).
Westmoreland Christian 57, Champion Christian 26 – Hunter Morrison scored 22 points to lead Westmoreland Christian Academy to a 57-26 boys basketball victory over Champion Christian Academy on Thursday. Kaleb Dean scored 14 for Champion Christian.
Girls basketball
Chartiers-Houston 56, Rochester 50 – Ava Kolovich scored 15 points to lead No. 3 Chartiers-Houston in the Class 2A third-place game. MacKenzie Walsh added 13 and Ali Wingard chipped in 11 for the Bucs (21-4). Syrin Crosby scored 15, Kamryn Newman 12 and Tia Yellock 11 for No. 5 Rochester (14-11).
Upper St. Clair 50, Seneca Valley 39 – Ryan Prunzik and Kat Polstyanko scored 13 points apiece as No. 3 Upper St. Clair (13-12) won the Class 6A third-place game. Natalie Hambly scored 14 points and Makayla Canty added 11 for No. 5 Seneca Valley (14-8).
Hockey
Morgantown 8, Elizabeth Forward 1 – Cooper Cox collected four goals and an assist and Cameron Smith had two goals and two assists to lead Morgantown (16-3-1) to a Division 2 win. Luke Forbes scored for Elizabeth Forward (6-14).
Pine-Richland 4, South Fayette 1 – Michael Desjardins had a goal and an assist and Carson Verszyla, Nicholas Roupe and Liam Voit also scored to lead Pine-Richland (11-5-4) to a Class 3A win. Jackson Stilley scored for South Fayette (10-10).
Ringgold 4, Connellsville 2 – Landon Vaccaro scored twice, Bruce Santina added a goal and an assist and Benito Pesi also scored for Ringgold (15-4-1) in a Division 2 win. Logan Hause and Sam Denny scored for Connellsville (15-5).
Seneca Valley 4, Mt. Lebanon 3 – Ethan Riffe Jr., Luke Meyers and Owen Martin each had a goal and an assist and Leyton Moreau also scored for Seneca Valley (19-0-1) in a Class 3A win. Josh Lehman, Xavier Bias and Cameron Mayer scored for Mt. Lebanon (3-14-3).
