Jonah Johnston scored 19 points to lead playoff-bound Franklin Regional to a 72-39 win over Albert Gallatin in Section 1-5A boys basketball Wednesday night.

Connor Crossey sank five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points for the Panthers (11-10, 6-7). Darrin Ford scored 13 points for the Colonials (7-13, 2-11).

Armstrong 53, Freeport 36 – Jacob Szep put up 21 points as Armstrong (7-14) beat Freeport (6-14) in nonsection play. Danny King scored 10 points to lead the Yellowjackets.

California 53, Carmichaels 35 – Caden Monticelli had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Vinny Manzella added 11 points to lead California (3-17) to a nonsection win. Robbie Wilson-Jones had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Carmichaels (5-16).

Fort Cherry 73, Mapletown 12 – Shane Cornali scored 15 points as 12 players hit the scoresheet for Fort Cherry (11-8, 9-4) in a Section 3-2A win over Mapletown (0-19, 0-13).

Penn-Trafford 63, Trinity 60 – Brayden Stone dropped 22 points to power Penn-Trafford (12-9) past Trinity (9-10) in nonsection play. Ayvani Chandler scored 18 points, Jacob Dunkle finished with 14 and Jonah Williamson contributed 10 for the Hillers.

Seton LaSalle 66, Sto-Rox 43 – Keenu Brooks produced 13 points for Seton LaSalle (9-11) in a nonsection win. Leading Sto-Rox (2-19) was Marcus Griffin with 15 points.

Girls basketball

Albert Gallatin 57, Waynesburg 26 – Grayce Panos led all scorers with 17 points, Mya Glisan followed with 15 and Mikayla Shea had 11 for Albert Gallatin (8-12) in a nonsection win. Peyton Cowell put up 12 points to lead Waynesburg (8-11).

Aquinas Academy 57, Leechburg 19 – Kay Chufo scored 14 points, Katie Tarquinio added 12 and Elliot Keverline finished with 10 as Aquinas Academy (12-7,9-3) beat Leechburg (2-16, 2-11) in Section 1-A. Addie Zanotto paced the Blue Devils with 10 points.

Belle Vernon 45, Ringgold 19 – Saylor Lee dropped 14 points and Emerson LaCarte tallied 10 as Belle Vernon (10-11, 7-6) rolled to a Section 3-4A win against Ringgold (7-14, 1-12). Alayna Macioce led the Rams with eight points.

Chartiers-Houston 57, Bentworth 14 – Allie Wingard scored 13 points and Ava Capozzoli followed with 12 to lead Chartiers-Houston (16-4, 8-0) to a Section 3-2A win. Kayla O’Dell had seven points to pace Bentworth (7-14, 3-7).

Ellis School 44, Jeannette 34 – Syree Spencer scored 14 points and Angelina Jones chipped in 13 for Ellis (7-8, 4-5) in a Section 4-2A win. Navarah Smith led all scorers with 24 points for Jeannette (4-14, 0-9).

Shaler 52, Gateway 9 – Bayleigh Perez and Reese Smetanka each scored 13 points and Olivia Gieraltowski added 10 as Shaler (19-2, 10-1) cruised to a Section 1-5A win. Casey Glaze scored four points for Gateway (0-17, 0-11).

Springdale 33, Eden Christian Academy 24 – Ashlyn Ferderbar scored 11 points to lead Springdale (11-10, 8-5) to a Section 1-A victory over Eden Christian (5-13, 4-8).

Trinity 56, Montour 41 – Sutton Williamson produced a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds, Kimari Behrens finished with 15 points and Bentley Layhue added 12 points as Trinity (9-9, 4-7) beat Montour (8-12, 3-8) in nonsection play. Brooklyn Young and Sienna Palmer each scored 10 points for the Spartans.

West Greene 43, Bishop Canevin 41 – Madelyn Roberts produced 19 points and Kendra Tharp added 11 for West Greene (14-7, 7-6) in a Section 2-A win. Natalie Kirsch scored 13 points to lead Bishop Canevin (10-9, 5-8).

Allderdice 60, Riverview 11 – Caleb McFarlane (114), Quentin Lesko (160) and Tom Paternoster (189) had pins as Allderdice (9-4) rolled to a nonsection win. Pierce Colvin (215) had a pin and Alex Wylly (152) won by tech fall for the Raiders (3-14).

Brooke (WV) 41, Carlynton 24 – Michael Gibson (127), Orrin Newton (139) and Garret Moore (189) had pins and Landon Burdine (133) won by tech fall for Brooke in a nonsection meet. Cameron Seitz (145), Aaryn Edwards (160) and Henry Barbisch (285) each recorded a pin for Carlynton (1-10).

Fox Chapel 51, Plum 20 – Michael Worsen (121), Landon Funk (127), Luke Krushinski (133), and Jack Viti had pins for Fox Chapel (10-4) in a nonsection win. Youssef Abdelsalam (139), Milo Chiu (160) and Joseph Geller (215) won by tech fall for the Foxes. Trent Reese (152) recorded a pin, Julien Sepelyak (172) won by tech fall and and Frank Grazulis (285) won in overtime for Plum (2-8).

Greensburg Salem 36, Hempfield 29 – Greensburg Salem got pins from Keegan Young (145), Ethan Miller (189) and heavyweight David Peters and three forfeits to defeat crosstown rival Hempfield in a nonsection match. The Golden Lions finish the season 10-4. Hempfield (2-8) got pins by Nathan Caracciolo (121) and Jacob Beck (172).

Knoch 56, Brashear 12 – Emmett Carbungco (121), Jarrett Crowe (127), Keegan Orris (133), Brayden McGowan (160) and Wyatt Foster (215) had pins as Knoch (9-6) defeated Brashear (4-12) in a nonsection match. Caden Hassler (114) won a decision and Owen Layhew won by tech fall for the Knights. Antonio Roa (172) had a pin for the Bulls.

Moon 35, Butler 29 – Karston Kirchner (114), Cael Yanel (139), Liam Costa (172) and Michael Olszewski (189) had pins to lead Moon (9-6) to a nonsection win. Bryce Thomas (107) and Dawson Dobyns (285) won by decision and Nathan LaFayette (127) won by tech fall for the Tigers. Evan Sala (133), Ben Mares (145), Cole Gibbons (152), Devin McCauley (172) and Ben Lloyd (285) were the pinners for the Blue Devils. Seneca Valley 36, Highlands 29 – Dean Saunders (152), James Bidoli (172), Landon Davis (215) and Thomas Wuycheck (285) recorded pins as Seneca Valley (7-6) beat Highlands (10-7) in a nonsection match. Logan Brethauer (121) won a decision and Tyler Nguyen (133) won in overtime for the Raiders. Bryce Tavarez (145) and Jayden Clahoun (189) each had a pin while Levi Dickson (114) and Aiden Burford (139) won decisions and Kyren Veasley (160) won by tech fall for the Golden Rams.

South Park 75, Brownsville 0 – Karl Reilly (121), Camden Barkey (160) and Parker Cunningham (285) each recorded a pin and Brady Louton (114) won a decision as South Park (12-3) defeated Brownsville (1-7) in a nonsection meet.
