London Creach scored a game-high 21 points as No. 1 Oakland Catholic (16-0, 7-0) defeated McKeesport, 58-49, on Monday in a Section 3-5A matchup of the top two girls basketball teams in the Trib HSSN Class 5A rankings.
Josie Fontana scored 14 points and Kaylee DeAngelo hit four 3-pointers and added 13 points for Oakland Catholic, which pulled away in a game that was tied after three quarters. Rachael Manfredo led No. 2 McKeesport (11-3, 5-2) with 17 points.
Aquinas Academy 53, Serra Catholic 49 – Violet Johnson led with 17 points, Ellie Junker followed with 14 and Emily Fisher added 13 to push Aquinas Academy (13-2) to a nonsection win. Abby Genes scored 14 points and Cate Clarke added 10 for Serra Catholic (10-3).
Armstrong 46, Franklin Regional 24 – Emma Paul scored 15 points to power Armstrong (10-4) to a nonsection win. Madison DeRiggi led Franklin Regional (3-10) with seven points.
Avonworth 53, Seton LaSalle 43 – Rebecca Goetz scored 22 points, Greta O’Brien had 12 and Emma Obersteiner added 10 to lead Avonworth (13-1, 5-0) to a Section 2-3A win. Mallory Daly led Seton LaSalle (9-4, 3-1) with 21 points.
Baldwin 56, Belle Vernon 15 – Mary Vargo scored 15 points to lead Baldwin (8-7) to a nonsection win over Belle Vernon (7-8).
Blackhawk 42, Beaver 14 – Alena Fusetti scored 19 points to lead Blackhawk (13-2, 5-0) to a Section 2-4A win over Beaver (6-9, 3-2).
Burgettstown 53, Carlynton 12 – Kaitlyn Nease scored 16 points and Martina Whyte added 10 to lead Burgettstown (8-8, 4-0) past Carlynton (4-10, 1-4) in Section 2-2A.
Burrell 54, Deer Lakes 13 – Jules Fisher had 17 points and Burrell (10-3, 4-1) topped Deer Lakes (4-10, 0-5) in Section 3-3A. McKenna Miller and Casey Brancato added 10 points each for the Bucs.
California 60, Frazier 56 – Rakiyah Porter led California (7-6, 4-2) with 30 points and Hayley Gibson added 11 in a Section 4-2A win. Allie Yauch scored 23 points and Chloe Harger had 16 for Frazier (5-9, 2-4).
Central Valley 52, Quaker Valley 43 – Nyah Hayes scored 16 points and Dominique Douglas added 13 to lead Central Valley (5-7, 2-3) to a Section 2-4A win. Mimi Thiero led Quaker Valley (2-11, 2-3) with 19 points and Lucy Roig had 10.
Chartiers-Houston 50, Carmichaels 16 – Amelia Brose scored 13 points and Ella Richey added 12 for Chartiers-Houston (10-4, 6-0) in a Section 4-2A win over Carmichaels (2-11, 1-4).
Chartiers Valley 52, Mt. Lebanon 39 – Lilah Turnbull scored 17 points and Emma Reynolds added 12 to lead Chartiers Valley (11-2, 5-1) to a Section 2-6A win. Payton Collins and Clare Cramer scored 11 points apiece for Mt. Lebanon (7-7, 3-3).
Elizabeth Forward 70, West Mifflin 34 – Alyssa Terza scored 19 points, Kaelynn Settles and Michele Jellison had 12 points apiece and Chloe Zombek had 11 for Elizabeth Forward (12-2, 5-0) in a Section 3-4A win. Savaughn Wimbs led West Mifflin (6-6, 4-2) with 20 points.
Ellwood City 64, Laurel 31 – Elsie Sturgeon led Ellwood City (11-5, 3-2) with 14 points, Delaney Sturgeon and Caitlin Kreitzer followed with 13 apiece and Claire Noble added 11 in a Section 1-3A win. Morgan Baker scored 14 points and Lexi Krol had 10 for Laurel (4-11, 1-4).
Freedom 67, New Brighton 10 – Shaye Bailey scored 25 points to lead Freedom (6-8, 4-2) past New Brighton (0-12, 0-6) in Section 1-2A.
Geibel 55, Jefferson-Morgan 48 – Emma Larkin scored 30 points and Geibel (11-3, 4-1) pulled away for a Section 2-A win with a 15-6 run in the second quarter. Ava Partridge added 11 and Gianna Holonich had 10 for Geibel. Kayla Larkin led Jefferson-Morgan (2-12, 0-4) with 17 points. Ali Ostrich had 12 and Ava Wood finished with 10.
Greensburg Central Catholic 62, Winchester Thurston 53 – Avery Davis hit for 25 points and Erica Gribble added 23 as Greensburg Central Catholic (10-4, 6-0) stayed unbeaten in Section 3-2A play. Jasmine Hollins scored 24 and DaShae Cochran added 14 for Winchester Thurston (6-7, 3-2).
Greensburg Salem 53, Freeport 31 – Kaitlyn Mankins scored 16 points and Gia Rosensteel contributed 13 to lead Greensburg Salem (12-3, 4-2) to a Section 1-4A win, giving coach Rick Klimchock his 400th career victory, including 82 with the Golden Lions. Jaden Gaillot led Freeport (6-9, 2-4) with eight points.
Hampton 48, North Hills 17 – Megan Murray led Hampton (8-6, 4-2) with 23 points and Kathleen Millon added 16 in a Section 2-5A win. Gia Milton scored eight points for North Hills (8-7, 5-1).
Keystone Oaks 62, East Allegheny 11 – Bailey Rieg hit seven 3-pointers and scored 25 points and Nina Deweese added 11 points to lead Keystone Oaks (11-3, 3-2) to a Section 2-3A win. Ronniya Lawrence led East Allegheny (0-14, 0-5) with six points.
Laurel Highlands 64, Ringgold 18 – Sierra Jenkins and Miya Harris scored 17 points apiece and Ayrianna Sumpter added 15 for Laurel Highlands (12-1, 5-1) in a Section 3-4A win over Ringgold (3-11, 0-6).
Leechburg 32, Jeannette 27 – Olivia Vigna scored nine points to help Leechburg (5-5, 1-2) edge Jeannette (6-6, 1-3) in Section 3-A. Venicia Vignoli and Adriana Allison each scored 11 for the Jayhawks.
Linsly (WV) 61, Trinity 58 (OT) – Haylen Cook and Rosa Sohlberg scored 17 points each for Linsly (WV) in a nonsection win. Ruby Morgan scored 17 and Sutton Williamson added 16 for Trinity (11-2).

North Catholic 59, Knoch 35 – Brady Wehner scored 21 points and Alayna Rocco added 17 as North Catholic (8-4, 6-0) stayed unbeaten in Section 1-4A. Neah Ewing led Knoch (7-6, 3-3) with 15 points.
Norwin 46, Seneca Valley 35 – Lauren Palangio had 12 points and Kendall Berger scored 11 to pace Norwin (12-3, 5-0) in a Section 1-6A win. Natalie Hambly scored 15 and Gracie Cato finished with 12 for Seneca Valley (10-4, 3-2).

South Fayette 76, West Allegheny 49 – Led by 18 points from Haylie Lamonde, 15 from Juliette Leroux and 10 from Lainey Yater, South Fayette (8-5, 3-2) picked up a Section 4-5A win. Ella Smith scored 13 and Alexis Santucci added 12 for West Allegheny (5-9, 0-5).
South Park 40, Yough 27 – Hayley Bennett scored 14 points and Addy Kerr added nine to lead South Park (9-4, 4-1) to a Section 4-3A win. Autumn Matthews led Yough (6-7, 1-3) with 14 points.
St. Joseph 70, Riverview 40 – Julie Spinelli paced St. Joseph with a game-high 22 points in a Section 3-A win. Emma Swierczewski added 17 points for the Spartans (12-2, 5-0) and Anna Kreinbrook scored 15. Lola Abraham and Katerina Tsambis netted 12 apiece for Riverview (10-4, 3-1).
Thomas Jefferson 57, Connellsville 19 – Emily Hritz hit six 3-pointers and scored 20 points and Riley McCabe added 17 points to help Thomas Jefferson (6-9, 3-3) past Connellsville (3-10, 0-6) in Section 3-5A.
Uniontown 58, Southmoreland 39 – Geelee Ingram led Uniontown (5-8, 2-3) with 17 points and A’kira Dade added 15 in a Section 3-4A win. Addyson Billheimer scored 12 points for Southmoreland (1-12, 1-5).
Upper St. Clair 49, Bethel Park 46 – Kate Moore scored 12 points, Olivia Terlecki followed with 11 and Meridith Huzjaklo and Claire Rosenberry added 10 points apiece to push Upper St. Clair (8-8, 2-4) to a Section 2-6A win. Ella Sabatos led Bethel Park (4-10, 1-5) with 14 and Julia Benlock had 13.
Waynesburg 49, Brownsville 41 – Kaley Rohanna scored 17 points and Josie Horne added 12 to push Waynesburg (14-1, 5-0) to a Section 3-4A win. Ava Clark led Brownsville (8-6, 1-2) with 19 points and Skyler Gates had 10.

Fort Cherry 43, West Greene 30 – Braedon Welsh (172) and Anthony Salvini (189) won by fall, Nashaun Sutton (152) had a major decision and Chas Rush (145) won by decision for Fort Cherry (2-8, 1-4) in a Section 1-2A win. Brendan Cole (139), Hayden Hamilton (160) and Colin Whyte (215) recorded pins for West Greene (0-6, 0-5).

Avonworth 9, Moon 2 – Austin Dzadovsky scored four goals, Austin Gatti and Linus Jesionowski each had a goal and three assists, and Conner Ralston dished out four assists for Avonworth (12-2) in a Class A win. Aidan O’Dell added two goals for Avonworth. Noah Driscoll scored twice for Moon (8-7).
Burrell 7, Wilmington 1 – Michael Moraczyzk had a pair of goals and an assist for Burrell (12-3) in a Varsity D2 win over Wilmington (2-11). Dante Taliani, Luke Mink, Chantz Watkins, Forrest Baird and John Lukac added a goal apiece for the Bucs.
Butler 10, West Allegheny 1 – Benjamin Mikan scored four goals and Anthony Trombatt collected a goal and four assists to lead Butler (8-8) to a Class A win. Jack Johnson and Owen Denny each had a goal and an assist. Branden Switalski scored for West Allegheny (2-13).
Central Catholic 3, Peters Township 2 – Griffin Lewis scored 14 seconds into overtime to propel Central Catholic (7-7) to a Class 3A win. Evan Benscoter and Judah Brophy had a goal apiece for the Vikings. Lewis assisted on both goals. Zach Palmieri and Cavan Fisher scored for Peters Township (8-4-2).
Central Valley 9, Sewickley Academy 0 – Aiden Pournaras had two goals and three assists, Noah Fessides and Gavin Crivelli each had a goal and an assist, and Gavin Husk recorded a 13-save shutout for Central Valley (7-7) in a Varsity D2 win over Sewickley Academy (0-13-1).
Franklin Regional 5, Hempfield 2 – Jackson Falkner scored two goals and Tyler Spears, Max Rutkowski and Shawn Sinclair had a goal apiece to lead Franklin Regional (9-4-1) to a Class 2A win. John Wynert and Nick Eberhardt scored for Hempfield (6-7).
Hampton 3, Freeport 2 – Joey Vinciguerra had a pair of goals in regulation and Hampton (4-10) won in a shootout to top Freeport (3-8-4) in Class A. Zach Bowser and Landon Kozma scored for the Yellowjackets.
Mt. Lebanon 4, Pine-Richland 3 – Sawyer Klasnick scored the lone goal in the shootout to lift Mt. Lebanon (8-4-1) to a Class 3A win. Klasnick, Griffin Krupp and Micah Gill had a goal apiece in regulation for the Blue Devils. Cullen Campbell, Zach Howard and Doug Van Meter scored for Pine-Richland (8-4-1).
Norwin 4, North Hills 2 – Alex Thomas had two goals and an assist, Dom Cerilli added a goal and an assist, and Joey Vecchio also scored as Norwin (8-5-2) picked up a Class 2A win. Jonathan Trosky had a goal and an assist, Andrew Nazaak scored, and AJ Urbanek made 46 saves for North Hills (0-13).
Seneca Valley 5, Baldwin 3 – Jimmy Murtha had a pair of goals and Adam Regalski notched three assists for Seneca Valley (12-3) in a Class 3A win. Nate Buys scored twice for Baldwin (1-9-2) and Logan Cramer had three assists.
Shaler 13, Kiski 1 – Darius Malecki and Jacob Kunc each had a hat trick and Chase Irwin and Brendan Fitzgerald scored two goals apiece for Shaler (10-3) in a Class A win. Dakota Wilson scored for Kiski (0-15).
